HEALTHCARE TECHNOLOGY IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES BY, MANISHA G MHA 2 ND YEAR
HEALTH Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity . TECHNOLOGY The branch of knowledge that deals with the creation and use of technical means and their interrelation with life, society, and the environment, drawing upon such subjects as industrial arts, engineering, applied science, and pure science.
HEALTHCARE TECHNOLOGY It is the application of organized knowledge and skills in the form of devices, medicines, vaccines, procedures and systems developed to solve a health problem and improve quality of life. Health technologies are used at every level of the health care system from the simplest to the most advanced. They form the backbone of the services medicine can offer in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illness and disease.
HEALTHCARE TECHNOLOGY IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES Developing countries, faced with severe resource limitations, are trying to develop modern health care services that deliver sensible medical technologies. Because of their lack of development, these countries must import much technology, while often lacking the expertise to make wise choices. International organizations such as the World Health Organization must also be active in assisting such countries to improve their decisions concerning medical technology.
ADVANCES IN HEALTH TECHNOLOGY Technology are used in diagnosing, treating and assessing the care of the patient. Today’s medical technology more advanced more effective and more costly. Such as, Computerized data management Computerized clinical laboratory Computer aid for handicap Computer assisted therapy
BENEFITS OF TECHNOLOGY IN HEALTHCARE Improving patient care and experiences Real-time information exchange Flexibility for patients and clinicians
APPLY OF HEALTHCARE TECHNOLOGY Disease diagnosis and treatment Medical imaging Healthcare operations Clinical research
EXAMPLES OF HEALTHCARE TECHNOLOGY Remote patient monitoring Artificial intelligence Digital therapeutics Technology in mental health Internet on medical things Advanced telemedicine New methods of drug development Data-driven healthcare Block chain Cancer immunotherapy 3D printing Nano medicine 5G-enabled devices Tricorders Healthcare’s digital assistants Smarter pacemakers Wireless communication Wearables with a purpose Personalized medicine Telehealth Robotic surgery Electronic health records
ISSUES TO ACCESS HEALTHCARE TECHNOLOGY IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES Some of the most common issues regarding access are affordability, low supply and low production. This is due to the underestimation of the demand for products in developing countries. Developing access plans that take into account all of the social, economic and cultural barriers to access is crucial to ensure that these innovations can make an impact on global health in developing countries.
CONCLUSION In recent years, there have been numerous innovations in medicine and new health technologies for developing countries. These technologies target a large variety of issues including medical testing, identifying safe drinking water, filtering dirty water and decreasing infant and maternal mortality rates.
