How can I know that I have been infected??? Am I infected?
Acute signs and symptoms Majority of people with acute Hepatitis C do not have any symptoms. Early symptoms would be most likely to occur around 6 or 7 weeks after exposure to the hepatitis C virus Some people, however, can have mild to severe symptoms soon after being infected, including:
FEVER
FATIGUE
LOSS OF APPETITE
NAUSEA
VOMITING
ABDOMINAL PAIN
JOINT PAIN
JAUNDICE (yellow eyes and skin)
Chronic signs and symptoms Most people with chronic Hepatitis C do not have any symptoms, until liver problems have developed. If a person has been infected for many years, his or her liver may be damaged. Hepatitis C is often detected during routine blood tests to measure liver function and liver enzyme (protein produced by the liver) level.
Do you know? THERE IS NO VACCINE FOR HEPATITIS C!! Thus, HOW TO PREVENT IT? The preventive measures are VITAL to prevent the occurrence of the disease. DO NOT : Share personal things with other people. E.g : razor blade, tooth brush, needles and syringes. Receive blood transfusion unless an adequate screening of blood has been done.
Complications Scarring of the liver tissue (cirrhosis). Scarring in your liver makes it difficult for your liver to function. Liver cancer. Liver failure .
