Introduction Hepatitis is an inflammation of the liver. The condition can be self-limiting or can progress to fibrosis (scarring), cirrhosis or liver cancer. Hepatitis viruses are the most common cause of hepatitis in the world but other infections, toxic substances (e.g. alcohol, certain drugs), and autoimmune diseases can also cause hepatitis.

Cont’d… Most common type of hepatitis, especially common in children, self limiting infection. There is no chronic carrier are seen . Most of the case are sub clinical.

Hepatitis-D ( delta Hepatitis) Caused by Viriods like organism . Dependent antigen, for the occurance of infection of hepatitis ‘D’ there should be Hepatitis ‘B’ infection.

Treatment No specific treatment Symptomatic and supportive treatment Avoidance of alcohol, hepatotoxic drugs, complex fat, spicy diet. Use high glucose diet Plenty of drinks Fibers food Low protein diet.
