History: Established as Hindustan Aircraft in 1940. Encouraged by Kingdom of Mysore. Organisational and Equipment setup in banglore by William D Pawley. Renamed as Hindustan Aeronautics in 1964.

India’s first jet air craft (HAL HF-24 Marut ) manufactured by HAL.  Designed by the German aircraft designer  Kurt Tank and Indian engineers. Designed in 17 june,1961. First used by Indian Air Force.
