MEANING Home visit refers to meeting the health needs of people at their doorsteps.
DEFINITION Home Visiting is a process which is carried out by a nurse whereby she visits the family to provide care, prevent illness, promote health and empower clients in their health care
GOAL To Provide appropriate nursing care leading to wellness of the patient.
CONCEPT OF HOME VISITING Opportunity for direct observation. Family health assessment. Family has time, privacy, clear clarifications. Direct observation of care.

Purposes Routine Part- planned visiting programme Felt need by family and sickness Assess nutritional , immunization status & environmental hazards and give health education.
