My Study Plan, My Guide describe proper time management and study habit plan; demonstrate effective study habits; and value good study habits and attitudes at home and in school.
My Self-forecast On a clean sheet of paper, draw a symbol of your target achievements in Grade 7. After the drawing, write your explanation about the symbol and your answers to the processing questions.
My Self-forecast Processing Questions: 1.How do you feel while doing the activity? 2.Are those targets attainable in this school year? Why? 3. What are the things that you need to change or do to accomplish it?

Homeroom Guidance Quarter 1 – Module 2 : The Better Me
Learning Objectives 1. discuss self-discipline and child’s rights including its limitations; 2. demonstrate ways on how to develop self-discipline that affects your immediate community; and 3. show ways on managing personal changes toward self-appreciation.
Have you ever felt the urge of doing a lot of things your way but ended up considering its repercussions and negative impact? Then, suddenly you found yourself following instructions because that’s the systematic way of doing things.
Let’s Try This This is me! 1. Get a piece of paper and a pen. 2. Doodle for a minute without thinking. Just feel free to do it in whatever direction. 3. After a minute, try to draw a square, rectangle, circle, and triangle at the back of the paper.
Processing Questions 1. How do you compare the two activities? 2. What did you feel when you were doodling and drawing figures? 3. Between the two activities, what needs certain control or discipline? Why do you think so?
Keep in Mind Nobody’s perfect, as the saying goes. We are all capable of committing mistakes. We have our ugly moments. Despite those unpleasant experiences in the past, we learn new things and eventually make these as our markers of improvement. It takes certain maturity and openness to develop self-discipline. You need it not because your parents or teachers said so, but because it is for your own good.
Selfdiscipline is the ability to take control of yourself, particularly your behavior, emotions and impulses from committing thoughtless and irrational behavior that usually results in unpleasant and negative experiences. It takes time and process to develop selfdiscipline . It requires awareness to fully understand how it works.
1. distinguish your own uniqueness and the characteristics of your immediate others (family members); 2. identify actions that show respect for individual differences as observed in family interaction; and 3. value the importance of good relationship and individual differences.
Situation 1: Your younger sister shows difficulty in her school work and you would like to help her. However, you also need to submit your school requirements the next day. What would you do?
Situation 2: You overheard your parents talking about their plans for your future. They plan to send you to a medical school. In silence you were determined to be a fashion designer, how would you tell your parents about your dream?
Here are some practical and effective ways on how to show respect for other’s uniqueness:
1. Recognize individual differences As we interact with other people, we tend to compare and differentiate our personal traits, characteristics and behavior from others. We can easily identify similarities and differences amongst people. It is essential that we value our individual differences so that we will be able to understand the reason behind other person’s actions, beliefs and behavior. Acceptance of individual differences will help us in establishing healthy relationships .
2.Empathize To empathize means to see others’ perspective, to recognize others’ without judgment, and to understand others’ feelings. Showing empathy can help you in identifying the needs of others, in building emotional connection, and in establishing meaningful relationships
3.Speak with kindness Proper communication is essential in showing respect for others. The best way to communicate is through our words and actions, that is why it is important that we understand how to speak with kindness. You need to properly choose your words and the timing and the tone of your voice.
4. Promote positivity Positive words and actions can influence the quality of our relationships. Remember to use words of appreciation, gratitude and encouragement and show actions like smiling, nodding or tapping the shoulder to show affirmation.
5.Express personal thoughts and feelings in an appropriate manner You can express your thoughts and feelings by communicating with your family members, teachers, friends or other people whom you trust . You can also have a personal journal or an e-journal in your mobile phone. You can also express your thoughts and feelings through creative arts
6.Care to show compassion Caring to show compassion is also showing respect for others. The best way to show compassion is to be a friend. Being a friend means being a good listener, showing good example, having concern for the welfare of others, and providing support during times of difficulty
7.Treat everyone with sincerity Treating everyone with sincerity means being honest in our words and actions. We can show sincerity by keeping our promises, giving honest comments, being consistent in our behavior toward others, and accepting our personal limitations.
