Fixtures and Fittings A housekeeping attendant should also monitor the faulty equipment in a guest room. The most often reported faulty hotel room equipment are the television, air-conditioning unit, iron and board, shower, and heater. Aside from reports on faulty equipment, a housekeeping attendant must also be capable of demonstrating the use of bedroom amenities to hotel guests.
There are some types of fixtures present in a guest room. These include the following: Television - normally all hotel rooms have provision for television to entertain guests. Minibar - This is a small refrigerator. It has food and drinks inside that will be charged to the guest when consumed. Telephones - the telephone is placed on the beside table and another one inside the bathroom.

When the key card is inserted, the door would be opened, lights and air-conditioning unit would be switched on. Likewise when it is removed, the lights and air-conditioner shuts down.

Air-conditioner - most hotels have centralized air-conditioner in their guest room that will be activated upon inserting or tapping the room card in the keycard socket. The air-conditioner automatically shuts down when the guest leaves the room and takes out the room access card.
