How to Configure Subcontracting in Odoo 17 Manufacturing App

This slide will represent the configuration of the subcontracting in manufacturing module. In manufacturing, subcontracting is the process of a company engaging a third-party manufacturer, or subcontractor, to manufacture products that are then sold by the contracting company.

1. How to Configure Subcontracting in Odoo 17 Manufacturing App Enterprise

2. Introduction Enterpr ise This slide will represent the configuration of the subcontracting in manufacturing module. I n manufacturing, subcontracting is the process of a company engaging a third-party manufacturer, or subcontractor, to manufacture products that are then sold by the contracting company.

3. Enterprise First, we can go to manufacturing module and in Configuration-> Settings to enable the subcontracting.

4. Enterprise From settings, we can enable the subcontracting option.

5. Enterprise Next, we can go to Configuration->Warehouses and enable the resupply subcontractors option.

6. Enterprise We can enable the Resupply subcontractors option.

7. Enterprise Next we need to ensure that inside the products we have properly designated vendor and the route.

8. Enterprise Under the inventory tab, we can enable the route Resupply Subcontractor on order for each of the components needed to manufacture the product .

9. Enterprise For the product to be manufactured, we can enable the route Buy under the inventory tab.

10. Enterprise Also it is important to add the vendor under the purchase tab.

11. Enterprise We can add Bill of Materials for this product which need to be manufactured

12. Enterprise We can choose the BOM type as Subcontracting and add the subcontractors in the specified field.

13. Enterprise After creating BOM, if we create a purchase order for that product and after confirming the PO, we can see a Resupply smart button. This is because we have added the vendor inside the product and also route is set to Buy.

14. Enterprise So in order to buy the product, we have to resupply the components from the subcontractor. So we can validate the transfer by clicking on Validate button.

15. Enterprise After validating the resupply, we can receive the products by clicking on Receive products button.

16. Enterprise We can validate the transfer by clicking on Validate button and this is how subcontracting is done in manufacturing.

17. Enterprise If we click on the Subcontracting button in the transfer line, we can see the raw materials for the table which is subcontracted.
