How to Make Work Centers Unavailable Using Time Off in Odoo 17

2. Introduction Enterpr ise In this slide, we’ll discuss h ow to make work centers unavailable using Time Off. If a work center cannot be used for some reason, work orders begin to pile up at the work center until it is operational again. So, it is necessary to designate an alternative work center to ensure smooth operations. Using time off module it is possible to designate a work center unavailable for a period of time.

Enterprise After activating developer mode and installing time off module, ensure that at least two work centers are configured for this workflow, ie one is made unavailable and second as alternative work center to accept the work order which other work center cannot accept. To create work centers, we can go to Manufacturing module and configuration->Work centers

4. Enterprise In this work center, we can choose an alternative work center from the existing one or create new. Also under the Equipment tab, we have to ensure that all these equipments should be available in the alternative work center also.

5. Enterprise In the Alternative work center, if the equipments are not included, we can add the equipments from here.

6. Enterprise Time off can be assigned to the work center that will be unavailable by clicking on working hours internal link.

7. Enterprise From there we can click on the Time off smart tab to add the new resource time off.

8. Enterprise By clicking on new button, we can create new resource time off and provide the reason, resource, start and end date. So if a work center is in time off, then any work orders within that period in the time off work center can be automatically route to the alternative work center using the plan button in MO.

9. Enterprise By moving to Operations -> Manufacturing orders, we can create a new MO.

10. Enterprise After confirming the MO, we can plan by clicking on Plan button. The work center here is not available during this period.

11. Enterprise After planning, automatically the alternative work center is allocated. Then, we can start the manufacturing by clicking on Start button, and once finish, we can click on Done button.

12. Enterprise To close the MO, we can go to shop floor module and close the MO. Now the MO will be in Done state.
