How To Navigate Your Bible

Bibles come in different sizes and colors, but there are many things in common in most Bibles. We hope we can show you how to find your way around in the Bible.

Learning to use your Bible may seem difficult at first, but as you become more familiar with your Bible, it will get easier to find a particular book, chapter, and verse. It will help you to first learn the order of the books of the Bible.

You Can Find The List Of Books In The Table Of Contents.

T he Bible Is Divided Into Two Parts: The Old Testament And The New Testament.

Most Books Are Divided Into Chapters a nd Verses.

SOME BOOKS HAVE ONLY ONE CHAPTER.

USUALLY, THERE IS AN INDICATOR AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE TO SHOW THE CHAPTER YOU HAVE FOUND.

SOMETIMES THE INDICATOR SHOWS THE FIRST CHAPTER AND VERSE ON THE PAGE.

THE MIDDLE OF THE BIBLE IS THE BOOK OF PSALMS.

THE MIDDLE OF THE BIBLE IS THE BOOK OF PSALMS. This should help you as you start learning the order of the books of the Bible.

THE BACK OF THE BIBLE OFTEN HAS A BASIC CONCORD-ANCE. A Concordance shows a list of the most prominent verses containing a particular word. If you are searching for a verse with a certain word, you can look it up as you would with a dictionary.

ALSO, AT THE BACK OF YOUR BIBLE, YOU CAN USUALLY FIND A SET OF MAPS THAT WILL HELP YOU SEE WHERE THE EVENTS OF THE BIBLE TOOK PLACE.

SOME BIBLES SHOW THE WORDS OF JESUS IN RED. This will be seen in the Gospels (the first four books of the New Testament), Acts, and the book of Revelation.

SOME BIBLES HAVE A CENTER REFERENCE COLUMN.  These references help the reader find other verses that help explain the thought of a verse. Often there are notations, provided by the translators, to help understand the verse.
