How to Unbuild Order in Odoo 17 Manufacturing

In certain situations, it is required to dismantle the manufactured products into individual components. This may be necessary if too many units of a product were manufactured or if components from one product need to be reclaimed for use in the manufacturing process of another.

2. Introduction Enterpr ise This slide will show how to create un b uild orders in Odoo 17 manufacturing module. In certain situations, it is required to dismantle the manufactured products into individual components. This may be necessary if too many units of a product were manufactured or if components from one product need to be reclaimed for use in the manufacturing process of another. In Odoo manufacturing product can be dismantled and their components return to inventory using unbuild orders.

3. Enterprise Let’s see how to create a unbuild order in manufacturing . Go to the Manufacturing > Operations > Unbuild Orders.

4. Enterprise Let’s create a new unbuild order by clicking on the New button.

5. Enterprise Select the product and the BoM of the product for the unbuild order. Define the quantity to unbuild and also select the manufacturing order of the product. Specify the source location where the product is currently stored, as well as the destination location where the reclaimed components will be stored once the unbuild order is complete. Then click on the Unbuild button to do the process.

6. Enterprise The unbuild order is created and the product moves were done.

7. Enterprise We can see the product were moved and unbuilded.

8. Enterprise Let’s go to the Inventory > Reporting > Moves History. The moves history shows the number of components unbuild and it can be easily identified by the Reference.

10. Enterprise We can see a popup window shows that there is insufficient quantity to unbuild.

Enterprise This shows the inventory inconsistency, therefore an unbuild order is generated for the product with zero or fewer units of onhand quantity, and a popup window appears while unbuilding. We can proceed this order by clicking on the Confirm button to return to the unconfirmed unbuild orders or we can discard it. If the order is confirmed, it produces an inventory inconsistency.
