Nurses individual principles and moral theories, their values, cognitive development and codes of ethics influences their ethical decision making process (Berman et al., 2020). They further suggested that in order to enhance nurses ethical practice, they need to be able to reflect their own values, be familiar with their code of ethics and be able to understand the health care professionals values. In the context of code of ethics, NMBA has outline four different elements (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, 2021). They are : Nurses and people Nurse and practice Nurses and coworkers Nurses and the profession Ethical practice requirements

Legal Practice requirements Legal : Registered Nurse should register in Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA) so that they can work legally and meet NMBA registration standards. Breaches of service standards, legislation, rights, policies and procedures Specific legal obligations and responsibilities. Current legal principles and protecting them from liability. Decision made by RN should be legal, with professional standard, health outcomes for clients

Communication Communication is a way to transmit the data and information. The success of each patient's tailored nursing care depends on effective communication between nurses and patients. In addition to a nurse's physical capabilities, effective communication also depends on their education and experience.

Communication Instruments and Situation Case (ISBAR) I Introduction My name is Ravneet Kaur, I am a understudy nature within the restorative ward CNS at Farmdale Hospital. I working with RN G Grant. The client is Mr. Mateo Alvaro, a 48 years ancient male. His wife Mrs Lucinda is his career. S Situation He has SOB (Shortness of Breath) and productive cough which has green colour sputum. B Background He saw GP 3 days ago and has done a chest x-ray and a bacterial pneumonia test. He has temperature and was coughing since last week. He also has lost 10 Kg. He was brought to ED today at 0300 hr and was lethargic and SOB on presentation. He is alert. On auscultation harsh crackle in his right lower lobes was heard. Waiting for his sputum result. A Assessments His vital observation are BP: 134/86 mmHg, HR: 102bpm, T: 38.9C, SpO2: 92% on room air, pain 4/10 at chest when coughing, Urinalysis: +Leukocytes, Blood sugar level: 6mmol/L, Weight: 76kg, Height waist: 178cm, Waist circumference: 90cm. R Recommendations To inform RN Grant about Alvaro unstable observation. Increasing the frequency of observation at least every 10-15 mins until his observation are stable. Consult with nurse in charge/manager whether a clinical review should be done. Do an A-G assessment and document it.

CONCLUSION All registered nurses who are in practice are required to abide by the NMBA’s code of ethics and conduct. Nurses are expected to show respect for their patients, their profession and their practice in their work. When a student nurse is performing, the registered nurse or the assessor should always be there to guide them. When dealing with patients, excellent communication is crucial to a successful outcome.
