DEFINITION Human sexuality is the expression of sexual sensation and related intimacy between human begins . Human sexuality as a encompassing the sexual knowledge, belief, attitudes, value and behaviors of individuals.
STAGES OF HUMAN SEXUAL DEVELOPMENT CHILDHOOD (BIRTH TO 7 YEARS ) Early childhood is the period during which each child forms a gender identity a sense of maleness or femaleness. This identity is typical formed by age 3. Between the ages of 3 and 7 there is marked increase in sexual interest and activity.
Children form a concept of marriage and long relationship, they practice adult role as they play house. They also learned that there is genital difference between man and female and show interest in genital of other children as part of their curiosity about world. Most young children talk about marring/ living together with a person they love when they get older.
PRE ADOLESCENCE (8 -12 YEARS) Between the age of 9 and 12 bodily mature and puberty begins. Girls begin t grow breast buds and pubic hair as early as 9 and 10. Boy’s development of penis and testicles usually begin 10 and 11. Children become more conscious about their bodies at this age and often feel uncomfortable undressing in front of others. In this periods children have a social organization that is homo social, that is social division of male and female into separate groups.
ADOLESCENCE (13-19 YEARS) Biological changes associated with puberty, leads to surge of sexual interest They experience increased interest in romantic and sexual relationship and in genital sex behaviors. They may have sexual attraction and fantasies .
Bodily changes include physical growth, growth in genitals and girls breast, development of face and pubic hair. Several psychosocial development tasks can be faced by adolescents. Another task of adolescence is leaning how to manage physical and emotional intimacy.
ADULTHOOD Adult sexual behavior is part of their life until death. At around age 50 women may experience menopause that affect their sexuality. They may experience physical change vaginal wall become thinner, and vaginal intercourse become painful as there is less lubrication.
Adult men also experience some changes in their sexuality; they experience slow the production of testosterone. Testosterone production is reduced so the seamen production is reduced. As the age the men and women face lose their ability to sexual desire.
SEXUAL RESPONSE CYCLE It refers to the sequence of physical and emotional changes that occurs as a person become sexually aroused and participate in sexually stimulating activities .
PHSES OF SEXUAL RESPONSE CTYCLE
EXCITEMENT Muscle tension increases. Heart rate quickens and breathing is accelerated. Skin may become flushed. Nipple may become hardened and erect. Blood flow to the genitals increases, resulting in swelling of women’s clitoris and labia minora and erection of men’s penis. Vaginal lubrication begins. The women’s breast become fuller and vaginal wall began swell.
PLATEAU The changes begin in phase I are intensified. The men testicle swell, his scrotum tightens, and he begins secreting a lubricating fluid. The vagina continue swells from increased blood flow, and vaginal wall turn a dark purple. The women’s clitoris become highly sensitive and retract under the clitoral hood to avoid direct stimulation from the penis. The men’s testicles are withdrawn up into the scrotum. Breathing heart rate and blood pressure continue to increase. Muscle spasm may began in feet face and hand. Muscle tension increase.
ORGASM Involuntary muscle contraction began. Blood pressure and breathing are at their highest rate. There is sudden release of sexual tension. In women, muscles of vagina contract the uterus also undergoes rhythmic contraction. In men, rhythmic contraction of the muscle at the base of penis result in the ejaculation of semen. A sex flush may appear over the entire body.
RESOLUTION During resolution of the body slowly return to the normal level of functioning, and swelled and erected body part return to their previous size and color. This phase is marked by the sense of well being. Enhance intimacy and often fatigue.
