What is Monoclonal Antibodies? Monoclonal Antibodies are only one type of homogenous immunogloblins of defined specificity. mAb are synthesised by Hybridoma Technology Used for diagnosis and screening It was discovered by Georges Kohler & Cesal Milstein in 1975

Procedure Hybridomas are cells formed by the fusion of two different cells Lymphocytes from the spleen of mouse immunized with RBC or specific antigen from sheep Myeloma cells ( Bone marrow tumour cells) from rat or rabbit capable of multiplication

Steps in the process of Hybridoma Technology for the production of Monoclonal antibodies

APPLICATIONS Identification of Blood Groups Diagnosis of diseases Diagnosis of Cancer Vaccine Production Immunotherapy
