Four Life Positions

We Can Change Whenever we receive information from any source of data, we make decision as we see, but in reality, it is very difficult to interpret the outcome. In making decision we have to go through different stages of life, i.E. Parent, adult and child. Parent and Child information are dated. Adult information represents the external reality that exits in the present, together with a vast amount of information accumulated in the past, independent of the Parent and Child stage. The goal of Transactional Analysis is to enable person to have: - What Makes People Want to Change? Freedom of choice. The freedom to change at will. To change the response to recurring and the stimuli. They hurt sufficiently. Boredom. Sudden discovery.

Transaction Analysis The transaction is the process of exchange of the opinion by one person and response by another person, which in turn becomes a new transaction for the other person to respond to. Types of Transaction Analysis: - Complementary Transaction Crossed Transaction Ulterior/ Duplex Transaction

1. Complementary Transaction When the response of one person is in the same sense to another person, the transaction is known as complementary transaction and these transactions can go on indefinitely. Example: - Person 1: - I am so worried about my mother who is not keeping well. Person 2: - You can leave work early and take care of your mother . P C A P C A Types of Complementary Transaction: - Parent-Parent Transaction. Adult-Adult Transaction. Child-Child Transaction Parent-Child/ Child-Parent Transaction. Child-Adult/ Adult-Child Transaction. Adult-Parent/Parent-Adult Transaction.

2. Crossed Transaction When the response of one person is not in the same sense of another person, communication stops. This is because of the uncomfortable response of one person by another person. Example: - Patient: - I would like to work in a hospital like this. Nurse: - You can’t cope with your own problem . P C A P C A Patient Nurse

3. Ulterior/ Duplex Transaction. When there is a two-way meaning of a communication. Example: - This is our finest car, but it may be too difficult for you to drive! How to stay in Adult Stage: - Learn to recognize our Child. Learn to recognize our Parent. Be sensitive to the Child in others. Give some time to the Adult to process the data coming into the brain, to sort out Parent and Child from reality. Whenever we are in doubt, leave it out. Work out a system of values.

HOW WE DIFFER Functional Disorder Contamination Exclusion

P-A-C & Marriage P P A C C A Girl Boy Manipulative and reproducing original situation of childhood Responsible and critical partner Code of conduct, highly organized, mother as head of family . Divorced parents, child dominated mother Well educated ,variety of interests, parent contaminated adult Child contaminated adult, government is bad Frequently depressed , hungry for affection Aggressive, self serving Girl Boy

P-A-C & CHILDREN C C A A P P CHILDREN PARENT The stimuli observed by parents and surrounding He assumes to be in a position of I’M OK YOU’RE NOT OK with passage of time. It can decide whether to accept or reject the incoming parent and child data.

HOW WE USE TIME 6 Types of experience , which are inclusive of all transactions:- Intimacy Games Pastimes Activities Rituals Withdrawal

When is treatment necessary? Some person behaves become inappropriate, for these people treatment is needed. -Mother can’t function as mother -Worker can’t do their job -Children give-up at school

Group treatment Treatment of individual in a group is the method of choice by transactional analysist. Is this good or bad? Actually, it is good because there is less caution and greater abandon in group where other member find support in one another and fear reduce. Benefits : It can reduce treatment cost to the point where most wages earners can afford it. Individual get well faster in group treatment using Transection Analysis than in the traditional one-to-one treatment relationship.

Rational Code of Morality A situation I AM NOT OK-YOU ARE OK. A person who try to solve his NOT OK by hard and continues game of “KICK ME” does no one a favor by projecting this solution on someone else. The universal problem is that by nature every small infant regardless of what culture he is born into, because of situation, decision on position I'm not OK, you're OK: we are at fault and others are capable . I'm not OK, you're not OK: everyone is at fault. I'm OK, you're not OK: problems are temporary only. I'm OK, you're OK: clear and undistorted view of the world.

Reality Therapy Reality therapy is a therapeutic approach that focuses on problem-solving and making better choices in order to achieve specific goals. Benefits Reality therapy is a highly effective way to solve problems and set and achieve goals. With an emphasis on changing thoughts and actions, reality therapy empowers individuals to improve the present and future.

Book Recommendation Yes, I would recommend this book, Because it gives a very important Knowledge about Transactional analysis. For individual seeking a career as a Manager. For leaders. For Individuals having interest in Human Behaviour.
