Highlights of the Project Self sustainability : farm needs minimum external inputs. Financial stability: Provides year round income to the farmer (Farm is an ATM) Ecological Aspect: Improves the ecological balance and reduces pollution. Biodiversity : contributes to improved animal and bird population like sparrows, Owls and natural predators. Enterprise Building: Agriculture can be taken up as an enterprise. Subsidy Benefit: Farm Owner gets additional income through subsidies on farm inputs. Food Processing Industry as a subsidiary will create employment and also help reduce post harvest losses. Value addition to crops can be achieved and better prices can be achieved by farmers. Eco Tourism: Farm walks and farm stays will improve ecotourism.

Maximizing the productivity of the farm like growing Areca nuts in the periphery, Capsicum, Lettuce, Broccoli etc., under the shade of Creepers like Bottle gourd will reduce the need for Additional Green net and poly-houses. This will help improve the humidity and retain moisture in the farm. The compost will improve soil humus and retain moisture. The farm can be completely self sufficient and biogas generated on the farm can be used to power a small generator which will supply power for lighting. The farm will support the life of birds and other dependent organisms. Vermi -compost will not only improve the soil fertility but also improve soil microbial activity. Will reduce ground water runoff and improve water table. The water from aqua farm can be recirculated to fertilize the vegetable and fruit trees. A system of root zone filtration will mimic the aqua phonics system and will help in conserving water, prevent any pollution of ground water resources and the environment. All the practices adopted in the farm will be 100% ecofriendly and will help improve the microcosm of the farm. The Farmer need not look for the Government help like subsidies etc., and with an initial loan to start up the farmer he can break even within an year. P.S.: Government subsidies and incentives have not been accounted for in this projection Second Year on The Return on Investment will be as follows: Income: INR 19,24,000 Expenses: INR 10,40,000 Income – Expenditure= INR 9,84,000/-
The success of the project lies in the collective approach of farmers under a cluster development programme involving around 50-100 farmers in each area. This can be expanded all over the state along with support services like Crop planning, Crop management, resource management, market linkages and localized processing units run by Farmer Producer Organizations. We are already initiating such FPO’s and process plants for creating marketability assurance and Post harvest management and produce management. This will be the Forward Integration Activity of our organization to ensure success of the project. Border Tree plantation will add value to the project and also will partly contribute to improvement of green cover of each cluster village and is inspired by the Haritha Haram Project and the aspirations of the present government.
