Review Tab its purpose is for  proofing your document and providing possibilities for seeking feedback on your final edits. It is the 6th tab in the Ribbon which offers some important commands to modify your document. It helps proofread content, to add or remove comments, track changes, etc. Prepared by: Rodessa B. The first section in the Review tab By default, Word automatically applies these tools for you. Proofing consists of spelling and grammar , thesaurus , and word count . Proofing Spelling and Grammar (F7) – used to check the spelling and grammar in the document Thesaurus (Shift+F7 )- suggests other words with a similar meaning to the word you have selected. - toggles the display of the Research task pane defaulting the research service to the thesaurus. Same as Excel. Word count – find out the number of words, characters, paragraphs, and lines in the document . - it can also be found in the status bar at the bottom of the window Prepared by: Rodessa B. Tabula

It helps translate and change your language settings  Language Translate – translate words or paragraphs into a different language by using bilingual dictionaries or machine translation Language – Set Proofing Language and Language Preferences Prepared by: Rodessa B. Tabula ICF 9 Teacher

  the part that a reviewer/editor should know well and understand how it all works . you can add comments to a document and write clear and concise information about why a change was made Comments New Comment- add a comment about the selection Delete - delete the selected comment Previous - navigate to the previous comment in the document Next – navigate to the next comment in the document Show Comments – see all the comments in your document Prepared by: Rodessa B.   used to track all the changes made to the document Tracking Track Changes (Ctrl + Shift + E ) – track all the changes made to the document, including insertions, deletions and formatting changes Display for Review - contains the commands: Simple Markup, All Markup, No Markup and Original . Show Markup  - contains the commands: Comments, Ink, Insertions and Deletions, Formatting, Specific People, Balloons, Highlight Updates, Other Authors . Reviewing Pane  - toggles the display of the Reviewing pane. It contains the commands: Reviewing Pane Vertical and Reviewing Pane Horizontally.   it’s in this group that the author has the option to accept or reject the adjustment once a change has been entered. Changes Accept   - click here to access other options such as accepting all the changes in the document . Reject – click the arrow to access other options such as rejecting all changes in the document. Previous – used to navigate to the previous revision in the document so that you can accept or reject it.    lets you compare two versions of the same document and displays the "Compare Documents" dialog box. The Combine command lets you combine revisions from multiple authors and displays the "Combine Documents" dialog box. This drop-down is disabled when the document is protected.   used to choose certain formatting restrictions as well as force editors to edit only certain areas of the document. Protect Block Authors  - prevent others from making changes to the selected text . Restrict Editing  - toggles the display of the Restrict Editing task pane. All these options will be disabled if your document is the basis of a mail merge. Similar to Protect workbook drop-down in Excel.   If a peer reviewer or editor wants to stick with their old fashion pen for editing, they can use a touchscreen computer and their finger/electronic pen to write on the screen. Ink Start Inking  - Draw, write, or highlight text with digital  ink  using your finger, digital pen, or mouse as if it were actual paper. Multiple colors and pen styles are available for different writing and markup styles Hide Ink  - Clicking it will toggle ink on or off. When the Hide Ink icon is "highlighted" in grey, ink markup is being hidden. When it is not highlighted, ink markup is being shown. Prepared by: Rodessa B. Tabula
