Advantages of IMCC Without IMCC 1)Only single cable( Profibus ) is used for communication with PLC/DCS for all feeders in MCC. 1)One feeder requires one cable for communication with PLC/DCS 2)Motor protection settings can be easily inserted and changed accordingly. 2)Hard to set motor protection settings. Also limited range is available. 3)Parameters can be easily monitored when motor is ON. 3)Limited parameter can be monitored. 4)Fault/Trip/Warning/Trip history is available. Hence chances of motor failure will be less. 4)No history is available. 5)Easy to find whether the problem is from Inst. Side or Elect. Side. 5)Difficult to decide whether the problem is from Inst. Side or Elect. Side. 6)In case of replacement of motor with different ratings, the programcan be easily changed/copied from another feeder instead of changing relay. 6)Relay replacement, CT replacement or parameter changing is required which is very difficult and time consuming. 7)In case of S/D starters no timer is required. It is inbuilt in SMOCOD and it will take setting accordingly 7)Timer is required for S/D starter.
