URBANIZATION Greeting people from rural to urban areas to earn a living in order to work is urbanization. Thus the gradual growth that takes place in an urban area due to the increase in population is called urbanization.

THE POSITIVE EFFECTS OF URBANIZATION Malnutrition does not occur. Facilities for better schooling creative entertainment, etc .
Career opportunity increases. Hope for future. Tolerance grows as it is practice between different sets .
THE NEGATIVE EFFECTS OF URBANIZATION Poor children live on the streets . Slum areas reduce child mental development.
Human abduction. Child labour .
Drug abuse. Loneliness can be stressful for children.
They are shifting from traditional culture to western culture. Wasting time with technology .
Environmental pollution affects the health of children .
No grandparents warmth.
Girl children have no protection. Children are in imagination world.
SELF AWARENESS The ability to distinguish oneself from one’s surrounding and feel unique .
SELF CONCEPT A child gains “self concept” in the assessment of what he or she is, what he or she can do, and what his or her strengths and weakness .
SELF ESTEEEM Children self esteem is known by competing with others and learning about their status , participating in social activities and expressing their self identities.
SELF FOCUSING One can accurately predict one’s self esteem though the “self determination” method. By self motivation one should minimize one’s short comings, eliminate negative thoughts and turns then into positive thoughts so that one can improve one’s self esteem.
