Topic Implementation of NAND gate

Introduction NAND gate is the complement of AND function, as indicate by a graphic symbol which consists of an AND graphic symbol followed by a small circle. NAND gate is extensively used as standard logic gate. NAND gate is easily constructed with transistor circuits. Boolean function can be easily implemented with them.

Apparatus Breadboard 74LS00 IC 10 ohm Resistance LED Connecting wires 9v battery

Breadboard Breadboard is a solder less device for temporary prototype with electronics and test circuit design it consist of many holes . Pwer rails C onnect other components.

74LS00 IC M ember of 74XXYY IC series. F our NAND gates 14 pins from which two are used to connect it from battery terminals which are 7 th and 14 th pin. Input pins Output pins

10 ohm Resistance Resistor is used to resist electric current Consist of two pins

LED Light emitting diode is a semiconductor light source that emit light when current flow through them. T wo legs Larger is Anode Smaller is cathode

Connecting wires The wires used to connect components.

9v battery S upply power to circuit Enough power to deliver for the required circuit.

Making of circuit Take a breadboard pin IC in the center of it . Now give two inputs to the first NAND gate by connecting the pin no one and two of IC . Now make single input NAND gate by giving single input to the second NAND gate on pin no 4 and 5. Now the output of these two NAND gate will be the input of third NAND gate so take output from these two gates by connecting wires and input them to the third NAND gate at pin no 10 and 9 respectively Connect one pin of resistor to the output of third gate at pin no 8 and other to the positive terminal of LED and ground the negative terminal of LED by connecting to negative terminal of battery using connecting wire . Now connect pin 7 and 14 to negative and positive terminal of battery using connecting wires respectively Now connect 9v battery to the circuit Check that the required output is coming out or not by observing the output of truth table Required circuit is ready to present.

Conclusion The making of NAND gate include 74LS00 IC, brad board, resistance, connecting wire, LED and battery.
