Importance Of Computer Education Essay
Crafting an essay on the importance of computer education is both challenging and rewarding.
While the subject matter is undeniably significant in today's digital age, the difficulty lies in
striking the right balance between technical details and accessible language for a diverse
audience.
To begin with, one must delve into the multifaceted aspects of computer education, covering its
historical evolution, present-day applications, and future prospects. This necessitates
comprehensive research to ensure an accurate portrayal of the subject matter. The challenge lies
in condensing vast information into a coherent narrative, avoiding overwhelming the reader with
technical jargon while maintaining substance.
Furthermore, addressing the significance of computer education requires a nuanced exploration
of its impact on various spheres of life в Ђ“ education, employment, communication, and even
societal dynamics. It demands a careful examination of the role computers play in shaping the
global landscape and the implications of digital literacy on individual empowerment.
Another hurdle is navigating the ever-evolving nature of technology. Staying current with the
latest advancements ensures the essay remains relevant. However, striking a balance between
timeless principles and contemporary developments is crucial to creating a piece with lasting
relevance.
The essay's structure must be thoughtfully organized, with a clear introduction, well-developed
body paragraphs, and a concise conclusion. Each section requires meticulous planning to
maintain a logical flow and cohesiveness. The writer must adeptly weave together information
and insights to form a compelling argument that captures the reader's attention and sustains their
interest.
In conclusion, composing an essay on the importance of computer education demands a delicate
fusion of technical understanding, eloquent expression, and a keen awareness of the dynamic
nature of technology. While challenging, the process offers an opportunity to explore a subject
that profoundly influences our modern world.

Analysis Of Lala Land And Lala Land
Dreams. Everyone has Dreams. Something for someone to think about when they
re in times of trouble. The Academy Award winning film, Lala Land takes the
aspect of dreams to a completely different level. Whenever Damien Chazelle
released the first trailer for the movie over a year ago, I was automatically in love
with the masterpiece that was about to bless all my five senses. Just within the
minute and a half teaser I saw over a year ago, I was mesmerized by the phenomenal
cinematography and score. The amazing film, Lala Land is the best movie ever made
because of the: amazing directing, phenomenal score, and the immediate chemistry
from the two main characters.
Damien Chazelle is a 32 year old director who has already acclimated a ... Show more

The music in those final twenty minutes are so powerful, that I remember bawling
my eyes out and clapping in the middle of the theatre. To this day, I still have Mia
and Sebastian s Theme on my phone.
On screen chemistry is incredibly important aspect to making a movie that
includes two or more people; and this movie absolutely nailed it. With a movie
about a failing actress and jazz pianist that fall in love in Las Angeles, the actors
have to be both good and convincing. Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling do an
amazing job playing a couple who fall in love in a difficult part of their lives. They
re acting was so good; they both got nominated for an Academy Award; but sadly,
only Emma Stone got the award. Emma Stone deserved that award; and she gave a
performance that will live on for generations.
What really saddens me is how blind people can be to how beautiful a musical can
be. From the many reviews I ve read, many of them are written by people who just
hate musicals in general. However, there are also people who are unbiased about
the genre of the movie; and actually, think that Ryan Gosling s acting is bland and
Emma Stone s singing and dancing is hard to watch. Although; I believe that Lala
Land is a masterpiece that should be praised for decades upon decades. I ve heard
opinions from my friends that I may have forced to watch the movie; and every
single person has said nothing but positive things about the film. They all say that the

The Tragedy Of Child Abduction
There is nothing like the injustice of child abduction, murder, and molestation. As
John Walsh says it:
The abduction of a child is a tragedy. No one can fully understand or appreciate what
a parent goes through at such a time, unless they have faced a similar tragedy. Every
parent responds differently. Each parent copes with this nightmare in the best way he
or she knows how

of thousands murdered in the US each year. In order to prevent some of these horrific
abductions, laws have been set in place. In the criminal justice system ... Show more

But this was not evidence, they needed to further investigate. Before the confessions,
after the murder, evidence tying him with the case was found in his garbage
(Dowling, Matt. Latest appeal by Jesse Timmendequas to overturn conviction in
Megan Kanka killing is rejected. True Jersey, 6 Feb. 2015). Then, Prosecutor,
Kathryn Flicker, proved Jesse Timmendequas guilty beyond reasonable doubt, by
bringing up the teeth marks on his hand, which were identified by forensics,
ultimately linking him to the crime. Megan literally left her mark, a mark that
would literally link her to Jesse Timmendequas, Flicker told the jury (Goldman, John
J. Details Convey Horror of Megan s Death. Los Angeles Times, 6 May 1997).
Before Megan Kanka s case, information about local predators was not available to
the public. Law enforcers say that Megan would still be alive if laws were in action
to warn the family about predators like Timmendequas (Assemblyman, Paul
Kramer). It s the guilt of the parent you know that you are able to protect them and
keep them safe and you just have no control over that, it s a real rude awakening.

Annotated Bibliography On Social Media
Annotated Bibliography: Adolescents; Social Media and the Implications
The use of social media and the role it plays in the life of an adolescent: specifically
an increase of depressive symptoms, anxiety, disruptive sleep patterns, and at times
conflict filled family relationships are dynamics that are still actively researched.
Parenting teenagers in the digital age does not come with a how to manual and
there are no easy answers. However, there are trends and longitudinal studies that
support the following hypothesis : 1) The adolescent s brain is undeveloped and
influenced by the depth of it s social network. Isolation, particularly in females can
cause an increase in the ideation of suicidal thoughts, further, mental illness and
sociability share a commonality. 2) Professionals such as pediatricians or trusted
professionals should be a resource to help parents navigate the use of social media
and their adolescent. There are pros and cons to the use of social media and
striking the correct balance is not a simple task. 3) Social media use specifically at
night, interferes with sleep patterns, quality of sleep, will to exercise and an increase
in anxiety and depression. This impacts a person across a spectrum, from grades to
interactions with family members.

Aimee reported that her computer had again experienced a bluescreen. Connected
remotely to the computer. Used a utility to find the cause of the bluescreen, which
was an unidentified driver. Downloaded and installed the latest drivers for the Intel
HD graphics card, the chipset, and memory card reader from the manufacturer. Aimee
also reported that her wireless connection was intermittent, and that she received an
error stating that the default gateway is not available. Researched the issue and
applied several recommended fixes. Disable power saving on both network adapters.
Disabled hibernation on the system. Searched for drivers for the network cards, but

computer which was not adequate. Discussed using IT365 versus buying an
application. Bobbie opted to by an application, which was more cost effective since
there are only three computers to protect. Connected remotely to her computer and
assisted her with purchasing BitDefender Antivirus Plus. Uninstalled the existing
antivirus application on Bobbie s workstation as well as Bill s. Installed BitDefender

Trial of Socrates
Socrates was a great philosopher of the Greek world. He was quite an atypical and
distinctive person. Being different from all the other philosophers of the land,
Socrates was teaching his students ideas totally out of the ordinary from what the
society believed was right. As a result, he displeased many people so much that they
decided to get rid of him. Socrateswas put to trial, accused of spoiling the youth of
Athens, tried and sentenced to death. His personal defense is described in works two
of his students: Xenophon and Plato. Both of them wrote papers called Apology,
which is the Greek word for defense . In this essay I used Apology by Plato as the
main resource, since it contents a more full account of the trial of Socrates and...

However, I do feel quite a bit of compassion for his accusers. Socrates was changing
their sons minds by making them question the supremacy and intelligence of the
people whose wisdom was recognized in the state. He made young people question
even the intelligence of their fathers. It should not have been easy for the fathers to
stay put and listen to him philosophizing about his ideas of the world. No wonder
Socrates had to beg them to listen to the end and not to interrupt at least three times
throughout the Apology.
Despite the fact that I do not quite approve Socrates attitude and the way he was
defending himself, I would not be able to give him any advice on doing it
differently. This man had a very insightful, logical and genuine mind. He was
teaching his disciples his beliefs. It was his beliefs he spoke about in the court. In
order to defend himself and make a positive impression on the jury, Socrates would
have had to mask his convictions and pretend to be something he was not at all.
Besides, I do not think the he would be able to apologize and promise not to
challenge people on their wisdom ever again. He just would not be able to keep the
promise! This was his life and Socrates was already seventy years of age too late to
change and start forming his ideas and opinions all over again. If I could speak to
the famous Greek now, I would beg him not to provoke the jury and apologize to
them, but there is no way

Ocean City Description
The salty taste in the air, the combination of moisture and fine sand clouding my
glasses, the sea, the beach, the power boats noise in the distance of the water. Ocean
city. My Loud family and I make our way into the burning sand, Ow oh my gosh!
Everyone screamed, which forced us to run to the moist part of the sandas quickly as
possible. I was enjoying the hot sand between my toes as much as I could until it
scorched my feet too much. The sun, right away, starts kissing my body all around
and I get concerned about it. Camron, you better put on that sunscreen before you
burn like you did last year. Quickly, I pull out the sunscreen out of the stripped
beach bag. The cool mist of the spray lands on my body continuously, which causes
me to let out a little shiver. I pull out my Hollister beach towel and flutter it out
until it could finally lay flat on the sand. I make my way to my towel and lay my
sticky body down on it fave up.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The waves end at my ankles and the water and sand rushing through my toes feel
great. I shiver and shiver until I finally get used to the water. I make my way farther
out to where I m leveled off to my waist. Quick breathe, then dunk under. I quickly
pull my soaked head of the salty sea and comb my hair back with my wrinkled
fingers. My sun kissed face makes my freckles pop when you could never see them.
To be safe, I slowly get out of the salty wetland and make my way under the colorful
umbrella my mom set up when I was away from them, enjoying the water. I lay down
with my sandy hair slicked back and fall asleep in the cool warm air. Camron Camron
CAMRON! I Wake up, confused where I am. I flip my hair back away from my eyes,
and the sun struck my eyes before I could notice. I gazed around the area, my family
was all packed and ready to go back to our beach house. I one last time appreciate the
oceanic scenery and slowly and tiredly make my way back to our shiny blue Ford

Introduction
This paper focuses on the various strategies of organization change based on the
leaders pet peeves. It has researched articles from various authors. One of such
author is Kowaski, Robin M. in his book, Complaining, Teasing and other Annoying
Behaviors . The paper has gone further to provide the recommendations on how
these organizations changes are carried out. The paper has reviewed the case
scenario of a C.E.O who wants to bring about change, but is concerned by the large
size of the employees and a company s long history without change. In the first
section of the discussion, the paper highlights data observed ... Show more content on

Long working hours have both disadvantage and advantages (Kuriger, 2004). The
advantage being the extra working hours can be used to create employment.
However, if this is not the case and the same workers are overworked then it
becomes a drawback to both the workers and the organization. Employees will want
to work the extra hours so as to earn more pay and some it is due to job insecurity.
Some organizations will not pay the extra hours arguing that its part of the job
description, but this poses a threat to the employee s health and safety. This is
brought about by exhaustion hence reduced concentration at work. The work
performance will reduce and the organization will stand to lose. To deal with this,
the company may decide to create a policy where overtime working is voluntary
depending on the individual capacity of the employees. The company might also
decide to employ more workers, and then divide them in such a way that some are
assigned those shifts that would have otherwise been overtime (Poole, 2000).
It would be true to say that when things are well back home, then at work all will
be fine. The employee will tend to do their job according to the way they run things
back at home. When a woman is experiencing domestic violence, she will tend to be
in a low mood, which in turn affects her working performance. As much as the
company ought to respect its employees privacy, it cannot just stand and

Dow Chemical Company HW
Dow Chemical Accounting Homework
Dow Chemical Company is a manufacturer and supplier of products used primarily as
raw materials in the manufacture of customer products and services. Its product lines
include chemicals, advanced materials, agro sciences and plastics businesses.
Attached are the excerpts from Dow Chemical s Annual report for 2012. Based on the
information in the financial statements and footnotes, please, answer the questions
below. Assume a tax rate of 35%.
1. Which cost flow assumptions does Dow Chemical use to value its inventories?
Inventories are stated at the lower of cost or market. The method of determining cost
for each subsidiary varies among LIFO, FIFO, and average cost.
What is the value of inventories that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
LIFO liquidation may be due to company not purchasing any more inventory (the
prices are too high), and depleting its cheap inventory. When inventory costs are
increasing, this results in higher net income. Either involuntary (disruptions in
supply) or voluntary (earnings management).
5. Suppose that Dow Chemical has no inventory left at the end of NEXT year (i.e.,
fiscal year 2013). Would Retained earnings at the end of fiscal year 2013 under their
existing accounting policy for inventories be higher than, lower than, or the same as
what it would have been had they used FIFO as a cost flow assumption for all of
their inventories? If different, by how much? Explain.
Same as RE if they used FIFO. Since there will be nothing left in inventory after the
year, Dow Chemical would be using same inventory (and therefore the same
inventory price for COGS) in both scenarios.
Also b/c LIFO Reserve = Cum. pre tax income FIFO Cum. pre tax income LIFO = 0
= Cum. pre tax income FIFO = Cum. pre tax income LIFO
How would your answer to above change if purchase prices for Dow Chemical s
inventories are expected to increase by approximately 50% in fiscal year 2013?
Would not change. The answer to this question is driven by the LIFO reserve in
2013, and, by definition, that stays the same, at 0, regardless of how much inventory
is purchased in 2013.
6. International Financial Reporting Standards do not permit the use of LIFO as a
cost flow assumption for inventory

The Auteur Theory Of Film Directed By Francois Truffaut...
It might be apparent when watching the credits at the end of a movie that there are a
lot of people who partake in the development in what you just watched. Although a
director can t usually create and perform all the aspects involved when making a
film, the Auteur Theory focuses on the idea that the director is the true author, and
creditable for the final look of the film. Auteur Theory is a philosophy of film created
by Francois Truffaut, a film directorand critic, in 1959. Truffaut noted that the
directors are, and wish to be, responsible for the scenarios and dialogues that they
illustrate. said in Society for Cinema Media Studies by Donald E. Staples. Auteurism
was considered to flow in film work from France to England over... Show more

Even the young actor Jean Leaud playing Antoine Dionel shared a similar
misunderstood youth. This incorporation of the recreation of Truffaut s personal
experience into his work gave it individuality, thus an true expression of the
directors vision. This use of personal resemblance was also used in his later film
The Wild Child (1969), as the filmmaker identifies not only with the child
character, but also with the father figure, Dr. Itard, whose part he chose to interpret
himself. (Colvile 448). Francois Truffaut s skills with the technical competence was
also a high light for his unique Auteurism. The 400 Blows takes the audience
through a trouble young boys life, and his remarkable use of subtle camera
technique and sense of composition enhance the aspects of the Poignant film. The
long shot of the final running sequence in the film is really interesting and unique.
Unlike other very satisfying resolutions with a strong degree of closure, the
protagonist makes it to the beach, where his mother had always wanted him, but
once he reaches the water the camera zooms on his face and the frame freezes. This
leaves the audience with a sense of openness to ponder well what next? , which is a
common question asked once a chapter in life ends. Also like Truffaut, Alfred
Hitchcock also doesn t mind avoiding the usual parts of storytelling. The main point
that stands out in Hitchcock s work is the recurrent characteristic that give his films,
as a whole, a distinct

Relationships Are An Important Part Of Human Existence
Relationships are an important part of human existence. To survive, we must build
these connections. They consume every facet of our lives. We encounter many
different relationships in our lifetime. We are a sibling, friend, parent, child, co
worker, spouse, lover and many more. It is a part of who we are and how we relate
to the world around us. It is how we develop and nurture these relationships that
make the difference in our lives. Relationships are complicated, but can be
rewarding when all parties are seeking the same goal. We learn to balance our
interactions and seek to find a way of fitting them into our everyday lives. The best
relationships are ones that are built on mutual trust, understanding, and respect for
each other. When they don t work out, we may feel a sense of failure or sadness.
They are often hard to let go of, even if they are dysfunctional and unhealthy for us
and the people we are surrounded by. In Learning to Fall , there are multiple
relationships being described. Ruth is a single mother who is doing her best to
raise her young son Andrew and keep a positive outlook on life. The relationship she
has with her son is nurturing and loving. Andrew is striving to become independent
and resents his mother being too mushy, especially in front of other people. What
makes this a bit more complicated and special, is the fact that Andrew was born with
disabilities. Ruth also has a friendship with the narrator. The two women appear close
and seem to

The Gospel Of Matthew, The Infancy Narrative
In the Gospel of Matthew, the infancy narrative contributes a large sum of
background information of Jesus that contributes to the development of Matthew s
Christology. In order to analyze how Matthew develops the Christology, we have to
cut the infancy narrative into sections. This paper will discuss background
information of the writing of this Gospel, literary elements of Jesusmiraculous
conception that reinforce his Jewishness, how Magi and literary devices help to
understand Matthew s Christology, what important biblical hero the infancy narrative
parallels, and what foreshadowing is caused from this infancy narrative.
Comparatively, the use of divine intervention in dreams to fulfill prophecy has been a
key focus of the infancy narrative in order to create an unusual birth narrative and
develop the unique Christology that Matthew envisioned specifically for the Jewish
Messiah.
When studying the Gospel of Matthew, Scholars have dated the book to be written
sometime between the ages of 80 and 90 CE. Scholars have also estimated the
book to have been written somewhere outside of Palestine, potentially in Antioch,
Syria. Antioch was a very wealthy and educated area with a large Jewish
community (Study Bible, 1665 1667). From what evidence permits, it s estimated
that the whole purpose of the gospel was meant as a means of correcting the Gospel
of Mark by emphasizing the Jewishness of Jesus as the glorious Messiah of the Jews.
There is also a stress to all the followers

Female Stereotypes In Kate Chopin s The Awakening
The Awakening Essay 1 In the novella of The Awakening by Kate Chopin we are
introduced to Edna Pontellier and the kind of person she is rebellious. She enjoys
doing fun activities with her friends. One of the female stereotypes Pontellier fits
is friendly/outgoing since she likes spending time with her friends. The two seated
themselves there in the shade of the porch, side by side, with their backs against
the pillows and their feet extended. (Chopin 15 ). This quote explains how she
enjoys being very friendly and having a relaxing day at the beach with her friend.
Another one Edna fits is how she is very emotional or cries a lot without others
seeing. The tears came so fast to Mrs.Pontellier s eyes that the damp sleeve of her

Pros And Cons Of Complementary And Alternative
Medicine
ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE
2
Alternative Medicine
Some people often apply complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) if they do
not feel the needed result after the traditional modern treatment. Contrarily, another
group of humans does not completely believe in standard medical care using only this
type of medicine. Thus, manual therapy is rather an effective type of non traditional
medicine requiring special education and professional skills from each CAM
practitioner.
According to Mayo Clinic (2014), Complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) is
the popular term for health and wellness therapies that have typically not been part of
conventional Western medicine. Manipulative therapy or manual therapy belongs to
CAM and it is a physical treatment mainly used by massage therapists, physical
therapists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, osteopathic physicians,
osteopaths, and chiropractors to treat musculoskeletal disability and pain. Moreover,
manual therapy usually includes muscle manipulation and kneading, joint
manipulation and joint mobilization.
Manual therapy includes various techniques for patients treatment; however, before
each procedure the manual practitioner has to perpetrate a full assessment of the
nerve and blood supply in addition to muscle and bone assessment for determination
of possible complications after these techniques. Only after the full exam can the
practitioner use one or more types of manual physical therapy, which happen to

Communication Is A Core Social Work Skills
Sam the service user was played by an actor. I conducted a 10 minutes mock
interview with him. Two members of academic staff and one real service user
were observing the progress of the interview. The assessment was filmed. To be
able to reflect critically, I was provided with a copy of the video clip along with the
observer s feedback. The remit of the task was to gain a broad understanding of
Sam s background. I believe that the role playing exercise along with this reflective
account helped me a great deal to understand and develop some of the key skills
involved in effective communication and interviewing clients. Communication is a
core Social Work skill (Trevithick, 2005 p1). Through verbal and non verbal
communication, service users are enabled to explore their difficulties.
Consequently, service users may gain a clear understanding on how to cope or
resolve their issues more effectively. After the interview, I allocated some time to
reflect on the role play activity. Considering the short nature of the interview and
my limited experience in assessing service users 1to1, I felt positive about my
overall performance. I exhibited some key skills, but also, I noted some
shortcomings I need to address before commencing into professional practice. The
way a social worker interviews a client can have a profound impact on the quality of
the responses given. Looking back at the interview, I feel that I structured the
interview well. I feel that I introduced myself, my role

Cowardly Lion Book Report
The cowardly lion started off as many cubs do, with a mother a father and siblings.
However he was always a little different from the other cubs and his mom noticed
he was not growing as brave as the his brothers. She was and experienced mother
and had never encountered a problem like she had in her new litter, of a cub not
following its natural instincts. Run and catch that mouse for me. she would tell her
cubs. They would all chase after the rodent, but when the cowardly liongot near it he
would back away, scared, while his siblings caught and killed the mouse. The
cowardly cub could never seem to face the prey or even stand up to his siblings. How
was her to survive in a world where he was supposed to hunt and kill if he could not
even stand up to a mouse. The mother feared for her sons life as a lion who could not
kill would never be allowed to live with the pride, and her own because if she could
not raise strong young she would also be seen as useless to the pride.

Unprotected And Unsupervised By Street Children In Brazil
In Brazil, street children are those children who are not supervised by their parents
or other protective guardians. They live in abandoned buildings, cardboard boxes,
parks, on the streets, or anywhere they can find. Street children are deprived of
family care and protection. Most children on the streets are between the ages of
about 5 to 18 years old. Unprotected and unsupervised, this children are often targets
of death squads, vigilante groups and police brutality. Government has made little
effort to alleviate their conditions. In Brazil, it is estimates that 200,000 to 8 million
children live on the streets. In SГ Јo Paulo, 609 children were found to be sleeping on
the streets. At least 50 were under 12 and unaccompanied by adult relations.

Summary Of L. M Montgomery s Anne Of Green Gables
The Girl of Edward Island: Study of L. M. Montgomery
There are several key elements of the novel Anne of Green Gables, with multiple
links connecting the author L. M Montgomery s life to the life of her fictional
character, Anne. Despite its classification as fiction, Anne of Green Gables in
some significance of the word, is biographical. Many of the incidents occurring
within the novel are derived from Montgomery s childhood memories. But many
of the incidents recorded happened in my childhood to me; Montgomery wrote
once, or my playmates, and many of the places are drawn from life (Montgomery
34). Montgomery has also been quoted as stating, I suppose that there is in her
[Anne] something of myself. I was a solitary child, and what I couldn t have I
imagined, and I found that almost as good (Dwight 55) And there are certainly
many parallels to L. M Montgomery s life when laid alongside the title character of
her novel, Anne of Green Gables. From her childhood home to her personal family
life, Montgomery sprinkled within the text elements, values, and tales from her own
experience into the novel.
Canadian author Lucy Maud Montgomery was born in November of 1874 within the
village of Clifton, Prince Edward Island. Her mother, Clara passed away from
tuberculosis when Montgomery was still a toddler. Mourning the loss of his wife, her
Father, Hugh John Montgomery handed the guardianship of Lucy to her maternal

Will the new building owner want to renew the stores lease? Keeping the New
Sudbury location open where competitor West 49 is moving in will affect store sales.
Is it worth the risk to keep that location open? This store has been open at this
location for 10 years and is well known by customers. St. Marseille worries about
the success of the New Sudbury location once West 49 opens and estimates that in
fiscal year 2004 annual store sales at this location would total $350,000 and all other
expenses would remain comparatively stable.
External perspectives The skateboarding and snowboarding business in Ontario has
really grown. Skateboarding became a popular sport and by 2004 there were nine
city skateboard parks and plans to construct three more in Sudbury. The city of
London, Ontario has only four skateboard parks to serve a population of close to
350,000. By the growth of skateboard parks there is an opportunity for competition
to move in as it is doing with the opening of West 49 at the New Sudbury Shopping
Center. There is other competition in Sudbury, Pinnacle Sports, however that store is
known for its biking and cross country ski equipment and does carry a small amount
of skateboarding and snowboarding equipment but its primary focus is biking and
cross country ski equipment . Skadurz Pro is a unique store as it has the opportunity
to afford customers a personal touch, something that a large

Four Seasons
Case Summary: Four Seasons Goes to Paris? Entering a foreign market Basic facts
about Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts is a
Canadian international luxury hotel management company. Between 1996 and 2000
they increased revenues and margins by about 20% and 10% respectively. Their
revenue per room was about 30% higher than that of their competitors. Four Seasons
generally operates, but does not own, mid sized luxury hotelsand resorts. By 2002,
they indisputably became the world s leading operator of luxury hotels, managing 53
properties in 24 countries. The Four Seasons management structure follows the idea
of regional adaption, meaning that each property has a general manager, who is

Four interviews were held with every potential employee to get an idea as to
whether the candidate could live up to Four Seasons philosophy. Therefore, attitude
and willingness to adapt to the corporate culture were valued higher than prior
experience. Moreover, they also hired staff with prior Four Seasons / U.S. experience
to bring American and French culture closer together and reduce prejudice. Cross
Cultural Risks Four Seasons ensures a smooth opening for each new hotel by
assigning a special task force of experienced Four Seasons managers to help establish
norms and train staff. The task force that was put into action for Paris had to stay
twice as long as for any other opening (seven to eight weeks rather than three).
Responsible for this were the strong differences between the North American and the
French culture. For example, French managers would not take the same
accountability for decisions and policies as North American managers, they valued
human relationships higher than punctuality and performance evaluations turned out
to be somewhat difficult, since addressing problems directly was not appreciated in
the French culture. As a recognition and evaluation program Four Seasons launched
employee of the month and employee of the year programs, as well as an annual
evaluation, both uncommon in France, but crucial management tools with Four
Seasons. The high expectations for food and beverages in France made it necessary

Lifeskills Training Program
Out of the all programs that I researched from the Crime Solutions website, the one
that stood out to me the most was the LifeSkills Training program. The reason
behind why I choose this program is because I actually have a family member
(cousin) that went through this program, who was heavily involved in drug and
alcohol abuse, as well as being party of a criminal gangand participating in numerous
illegal activates. Until he faced the biggest obstacle in his life, he was arrested and
had to spend a portion of his life behind bars when he was only fifth teen years old.
Luckily this situation made him realize he was just throwing his life away and
decided to switch his whole life around. When he made this decision, he took it
very serious and while being locked up he demonstrated good behavior at the facility
he was housed and was released early on parole (age 17 years old). When he was
released, that s when he discovered the LifeSkills program.
The LifeSkills program is a classroom based tobacco , alcohol , and drug abuse
prevention program for adolescents ranging from 11 to 18 years old. The goals of
LifeSkills are to prevent tobacco, alcohol, and illicit drug abuse by targeting key
risk and protective factors associated with these behaviors. LifeSkills is designed to:
(1) increase knowledge of the adverse consequences of substance use; (2) promote
anti drug attitudes and norms; (3) teach personal self management skills; (4) teach
general social skills; and (5) teach

Visual Inspection With Acetic Acid (VIA)
1.9.3. Visual inspection with acetic acid (VIA): Visual inspection with acetic acid
(VIA) is a simple, inexpensive test, with moderate sensitivity and specificity for
screening that can be combined with simple treatment procedures for early
cervical lesions (59). Visual inspectionis direct visualization of the cervix after
application of a solution of either acetic acid 3 5% (VIA) or Lugol s iodine (VILI).
A result is obtained immediately and treatment can be performed at the same setting.
In visual inspection with acetic acid (VIA), CIN lesions will turn white for a few
minutes after application of acetic acid. The effect of acetic acid depends on the
amount of nuclear proteins, and cytokeratins present in the cervical epithelium, which
increases in CIN. (60) Scaling up and inclusion of VIA based... Show more content on

Society As An Outsiders
In William Faulkner s A Rose for Emily and Sherwood Anderson s Hands, both
authors present main characters who is isolated in their respective societies. In
Faulkner s work, Emily is an outsider because she chooses to remove herself from
mainstream society by not interacting with other people. Similarly, in Anderson s
work, Wing Biddlebaum chooses to remove himself from society since he has
been falsely accused of being a child molester. In this way, both characters are
outsiders in their communities by choosing to remove themselves of their own
free will. First, there are several types of outsider based on different reasons. A
person who decides to take himself away from the society, or one who different
from most people can be said to be an outsider. a person not belonging to a
particular group, set, party, etc. An outsider can also mean someone who is not
within boundary or enclosure. a person not belonging to a particular group, set,
party, etc. (OutsiderDictionary.com. Web. Pg.1). Though the dictionary has already
described what an outsider meant, an outsider can also be when one is trying
really hard to succeed at a particular thing but is having difficulty doing that; like in
the case of a student who is having difficulty in passing a course while most of the
students seem to be having no problem with the class. Such student can be said to
be an outsider. While this is the case for students, a homeless is said to be an
outsider too. There are various kinds of

The document is an from an archive taken from the Hampshire Record Office which
includes a government poster published in Britain during the time when WW2 had
just began and evacuation process had started to take place. Whilst carrying out
research it is important to be able to understand more about the context of this time.
To some extent this poster is able to help us with our understandingsurrounding some
of the details about the evacuation process as well as being able to analyse some of
the information that the government provided the citizens with during this time.
Whilst trying to understand and develop my research on evacuees and how records

into the different areas across Great Britain and possibly develop upon this in order
to compare and contrast research that is compiled over a period of time.
The title of this document is Important announcement Dispersal of civilian population

provide them with important information that was necessary for the majority of the
public to read and understand attentively. The first section of the poster is titled,

LGBT Youth Obstacles
LGBT Youth Obstacles
There is a tremendous amount of LGBT youth that experience homelessness in the
United States, and forty percent of them identify themselves as LGBT. There are so
many issues that cause homelessness in the LGBT community such as discrimination
in religious communities, lack of support from families and rejection from society.
But in a world where these issues are all around us, how can we solve this? It starts
with every individual to just stop and maybe educate themselves on this unique youth
community and the struggles they must face to bring in equality. This education can
start with volunteer work, educational classes, or even support groups. The problem
is the discrimination against the LGBT youth community, so many do not
understand what it means to be in the LGBT individual and the obstacles they must
face such as finding a job, going to school and finding a place to live, etc. Many
LGBT have to face discrimination while trying to attend and can be such a huge
obstacle to try to receive an education when you have to go to a hostile work
environment every day. In the article Like walking through a Hailstorm
discrimination against LGBT Youth in US Schools states that A lack of policies and
practices that affirm and support LGBT youth and failure to implement protections
that do exist means that LGBT students nationwide continue to face bullying,
exclusion, and discrimination in school, putting them at physical and phycological

It s the worst ocean on the globe. (82) It can be truly appalling. Drake s Passage is

As the novel indicates, Shackleton really did not have a choice if he wanted to
save his crew. Because of his prior experience in the Antarctic, Shackleton knew
sailing due north across Drake s Passage in the winter would be suicide. (92) All
the winds and waves would be against it. (92) Considering their location,
Shackleton had four options : do nothing, stay where they were and sincerely hope
that a ship comes by at some point; get back in the boats, island hop back down the
Antarctic Peninsula and hope a ship comes by at some point; try to sail across
Drake s Passage in a 22 foot lifeboat while battling 100 foot waves; or take
advantage of the prevailing winds and currents and make for South Georgia Island,

the journey was an arduous one. For Worsley, navigating had ceased to be a
science and had turned into a kind of sorcery. (98) He was only able to get a sight of

them. Ice developed. The men would suffer from nightmares for months after the
journey because of the horrors they experienced. When considering what the crew of

Analysis Of The Dreamlife Of Toasters
In The Dreamlife of Toasters by Heather O Neill she focuses on the aspect of
feelings of joy and sensation. In the opening paragraph it says, They were unable
to experience the same feelings and sensations (O Neill 209), but as the story
continues the reader discovers that this is not true for all of the androids. 4F6 is
one of the unique androids that feels emotion, and gives birth to a baby android
after experiencing her first kiss. The narrator suggests that 4F6 decides to abandon
her baby at the dump due to an overwhelming amount of emotion, this is due to an
android s ability to be easily overwhelmed, 4F6 s fear of unsafety and feelings of
uncertainty proving that emotion carries great power and often clouds one s

This ability to be overwhelmed by something as little as the stars shows how easy
it is for an android to have their emotions overpower their thoughts, let alone 4F6,
who has the ability to feel more emotion than any other android. Therefore when
4F6 is flooded with emotion, after the baby robot is born, she becomes inundated
and it clouds her judgement of how to properly handle the situation, resulting in
irrational actions. While being overrun by thought, she begins to feel uncertain of
what to do and who to turn to for help. Finally, showing that 4F6 s feeling of
uncertainty overwhelms her, as she has not been programmed to deal with
something so unexpected. Her feelings of uncertainty stem from her programming
as, 4F6 was programmed to know when to yell and when to whisper, when to fuel
up and when to rest; but this matter, she was not at all certain what she knew at all
(214), not knowing what to do created enormous confusion on how to handle the
situation. This uncertainty left her to make a quick impulse and get rid of the baby
android. She had nothing to believe in and nowhere to turn, which left her feelings
of uncertainty even stronger. Most people turn to religion or an elder for advice but,

The history of Himachal Pradesh dates back to around two million years. At this
point of time, people lived in the foothills of Himachal Pradesh. These original
inhabitants of Himachal, the Kols and the Mundas, were forced by the people of
the great Indus valley civilization to move up to the hills. The Indus valley
civilization prospered here between 2250 and 1750 BC. The second wave of

The revolt of the 1857 did not see much participation from the people of the hill.
They preferred to stay away from the revolt and infact some of the rulers even

Between the year 1858 and 1914, the hill states of Chamba, Mandi and Bilaspur
prospered under the British rule and even supported the latter during the first world

The Theme Of Self, And Slavery In Toni Morrison s Beloved
The complex relationship between identity, which is commonly defined as the
awareness of one s characteristics and self, and slavery are explored in Toni Morrison
s novel Beloved. This novel is set in the 1870 s in Ohio and Sethe, a runaway slave
who lives in the house at 124, kills her baby daughter to free her from the horrors of
slavery. Therefore, Sethe and other characters encounter appalling and inhumane
circumstances as slaves on the Sweet Home plantation. This novel, which is narrated
through multiple points of view and incorporates several fragmented flashbacks,
includes various symbols that express an important purpose of this work as a whole.
Thus, in the novel Beloved by Toni Morrison, the symbolic use of animals, checkers,
and names stress that although the institution of slavery dehumanizes slaves, they are
still able to assert their identity.
A primary way in which Toni Morrison displays the way in which slavery
dehumanizes slaves is through the symbolic use of animals. This interpretation of
this key symbol is supported by Tuire Valkeakari. She argues that The metaphorical
connotations conveyed by the cruel, animalizing treatment of the slave body [...] are
central to Morrison s portrayal of the mental struggle between the human and animal
definition of self (Valkeakari 199). This conflict of identity is highlighted when Paul
D is bothered by the free and noble rooster that roams around Sweet Home. After
comparing his situation as a slave to this

Pleiades Essay
The Pleiades, also known as M45 or the Seven Sisters, is the most famous of all
open star clusters, containing several hundred stars. This young, open star cluster
resembles a smaller version of the Big Dipper and is easily visible to the unaided eye.
In fact, it is visible from virtually every place that humanity inhabits Earth, from as far
north as the North Pole, and further south than the southernmost tip of South America.
At least six hot blue stars are readily visible and keen eyed observers under dark skies
may see more. The myth of the lost Pleaid, or seventh star (sister), is prevalent in the
star lore of European, African, Asian, Indonesian, Native American and Aboriginal
Australian populations. In both myth and science, the Pleiades ... Show more content

A faint veil of nebulosity surrounds the brightest Pleiades members, with the most
easily observable patch being the Merope Nebula (IC 349), which surrounds the star
Merope. These reflection nebulas are not remnants of the gas cloud where the
Pleiades were born, but a chance cloud of dust that the cluster is passing through.
To find the famous star cluster in the night sky, begin by looking for the
constellation of Orion. Using the three stars that mark Orion s Belt, imagine a line
drawn through the three stars to the right and continue to a V shaped pattern of stars
with a bright star in its midst. The V shaped pattern is the face of Taurus, the Bull.
The bright star in the V shape is called Aldebaran, and depicts the Bull s blood red
Eye. Continue a bit past Aldebaran until arriving at the Pleiades star cluster, which
marks the Bull s Shoulder. A good star chart will help locate the constellation star
patterns.
The Pleiades passes high overhead during the northern winter months and its high
visibility in the night sky has guaranteed it a special place in many cultures.
Historically it served as a calendar for many civilizations including the Zuni of New
Mexico who call the Pleiades the Seed Stars, because this cluster s disappearance in
the evening sky every spring signals the seed planting

thinkers, and one of the greatest composers. To hear him talk, he was Shakespeare,
and Beethoven, and Plato, rolled into one. And you would have had no difficulty in
hearing him talk. He was one of the most exhausting conversationalists that ever lived.
An evening with him was an evening spent in listening to a monologue. Sometimes
he was brilliant; sometimes he was maddeningly tiresome. But whether he was being
brilliant or dull, he had one sole topic of conversation: himself. What he thought and
what he did. He had a mania for being in the right. The slightest hint of disagreement,
from anyone, on the most trivial point, was enough to set him off on a harangue that
might last for hours, in which he proved himself right in so many ways, and with
such exhausting volubility, that in the end his hearer, stunned and deafened, would
agree with him, for the sake of peace. It never occurred to him that he and his

Celsus Critique Of Christianity
Christianity, or religion in general, has come under immense amounts of criticism.
Especially in modern times where science has been growing beyond our imagination,
and, now, individuals might downplay the relevance of religion. However, even
thousands of years ago Christianity was met with criticism. One of the notable critics,
and focus of this paper, was Celsus. He was A philosopher during the second century,
had his writings complied into The True Word that housed his critiques on Christianity
. From these critiques, it is possible to identify the characteristics Celsus might
identity with a true religion. Moreover, the second focus of paper is Mark s gospel,
more specifically, Jesus. Having read Mark s gospel, would his depiction of Jesus
and his movement be considered valid in the eyes of Celsus? In this paper, I will
argue that the depiction of Jesus and the Jesus movement in Mark s Gospel would
not be considered a true religion due to the fact it conflates with many of Celsus s
criticisms of Christianity. Before delving into the reason why Mark s depiction of
Jesus would not meet Celsus s criteria for a true religion, it is important to first
identify what exactly Celsus might believe is a true religion. The first critique that is
offered by Celsus is the secrecy of Christians. He wrote, Christians entered into secret
associations with each other contrary to law (Celsus 1.1). Celsus condemned the
Christians for gathering in secret in order to practice, and

Intercultural Conflict Style Inventory
Heidi Wempen Intercultural Conflict Style Inventory
What is your total D/I score? Describe your preferred approach for managing conflict.
My D/I score was 41, making my style for managing conflict more direct.
The guide described my conflict style very well. I do prefer to state my needs and
my wants in clear language, in face to face meetings. The booklet doesn t go into
why the direct style prefers face to face, but I know why I prefer face to face
interaction. When in conflict, it is simply because inflection, and tone of voice would
be hard to convey though mediators or though writing. The phone would give me the
voice but not the personal presence, and when tensions are high I think it is helpful to
pay attention to expressions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I also feel that reading about the other conflict styles helped me figure out a plan to
strengthen those weaknesses. The first thing that caught my eye was the
accommodation style trait of using stories. One of the last classes I took for my
B.A. was one in effective storytelling. A big focus in that class was using stories to
emotionally connect with your audience and to incorporate facts and figures into
the stories so as to make them more relatable. I think that if I practice what I learned
in that class I can combat the weakness of being too logical and unfeeling. Stories,
when told well, are meant to evoke emotions so I think that using stories to elaborate
positions and arguments could allow me to connect with people who are more
emotionally expressive in their conflict style (Hammer, 2003, p.

Corruption in the Public Sector and Service Delivery
CORRUPTION IN THE PUBLIC SECTOR AND SERVICE DELIVERY A Paper
presentation at the
ROUNDTABLE ON REVIEW OF GOVERNANCE INDEX AND SECURITY IN
NIGERIA
Held in
THE NATIONAL DEFENCE COLLEGE, NIGERIA
22ND MAY, 2013

Introduction
The Public Sector in Nigeria is charged with the responsibility of providing goods
and services, otherwise referred to as public goods in economics, to the public vis Г
vis the mandate of the ruling government and its administrative system. It is expected
by the public, of the government, and through the public sector to judiciously harness
the nation s economic resources for the benefit of the public and the development of
their communities particularly, and the nation ... Show more content on

The public sector being an economic agent, acts on behalf of the public to
judiciously harness all economic resources for the benefit of all. Comprising of the
Executive, the Judiciary, the Legislative, the Armed Forces, the Para Military
Organisations, the Police, the Ministries, the Public Enterprises (collectively
referred to as Ministries, Departments and Agencies), the public sector refers to a
system of government employees, elected or appointed that serve members of the
public through the provision of goods and service. The term is also a generic name
for both the civil service and the parastatals or public enterprises combined. It
equally encompasses undertakings that engage in the provision of goods and
services which the private sector may not be able to invest in. It is generally
recognized that the public sector, as an instrument for carrying out government
policies, has a vital role to play in the social and economic development of a country.
OVERVIEW OF THE EVOLUTION OF THE PUBLIC SECTOR IN NIGERIA
The evolution of the Public Service was described by Maduabum (2006) thus; * The
transfer of the central administration of Lagos, Gambia, Gold Coast, Sierra Leone to
Freetown, Sierra Leone (1866 1874) * Lagos Colony was administered from Gold
Coast (1874 1886) * Moloney was appointed Governor of Lagos (1886) * The Niger
Coast Protectorate was merged with the territories of the Royal Niger Company

The Exclusivity Of Historical Feminism
Feminism has changed a startlingly wonderous amount over the years. It has changed
to bring others into the community and to change the media induced expectations of
feminism. Such delusions perpetuated by the media as: angry, white, cisgendered
women who hate men are all feminists. For the media to define feminismin this way
makes young people veer away from feminism because in the medias perspective it is
a hateful group. Feminism isn t about hate. It is about equality for all but for a long
time this didn t apply to other races than white. The exclusivity of feminism has been
its greatest flaw. The creation of intersectional feminism mended this flaw to create a
more open and accepting feminism. This has become modern feminism. An
intersectionalist community geared towards equality for all and the destruction of all
forms of oppression. The intersectionality of race in feminism is the most prominent
and important addition to the principles of the feminist movement. The interlocking
of feminism and the rights of women have been debated and argued that women in
the past and present... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By shutting out black women, lesbian women and other groups oppressed by
identifying as women feminism loses some power and gains hate. Audrey Lorde and
Patricia Hill Collins explain the outright exclusivity of feminist groups and feminist
thought. They both explain this feeling of exclusivity of feminism and to be accepted
into feminist culture black women must relinquish her blackness. To be accepted into
black culture they must relinquish her feminism. Collins and Lorde explain their
circumstance and difficulty of never being accepted by their communities and for the
oppression they feel not being recognized as inequality by such communities. The
intersectionality of feminism is the most inclusive and important change to feminism.
This has created an air of acceptance and without competition of who is more

Persuasive Essay On Terrorism
One more time. I promise after that I ll let you go. The last tune that rang out in
eight year old Saffie Rose s ears before everything went dark. This was the experience
of a young life cut short due to the horrific and misguided actions of a lone wolf.
The cold bare truth is that drastic measures must be adopted by the Australian
government to ruthlessly tackle the threats to democracy and innocent lives by
callous extremists. Australian and other Western countries are plagued by the danger
of radicalisation on two levels. Firstly, those fighters who have left our country to
fight for ISIS and are returning. Secondly, the radicalisation at home and in most
other Western countries of our disenfranchised youth. This phenomenon has ... Show

Rather than allowing them to return, we need to eliminate them.
A plethora of recent examples continue to demonstrate the threat of foreign fighters
on multiple occasions. Mehdi Nemmouche, the attacker responsible for killing
innocents in the Jewish Museum of Brussels in 2014, spent one year fighting in
Syria with ISIS. The most recent 2017 Manchester Arena bombing claiming the
lives of 23 ordinary folks was carried out by an individual who had used student
loans to finance the plot, including travelling overseas to hone his skills in explosive
devices. What is to stop it from occurring in Australia?
While some may argue that, individuals do not need to leave the country to be
radicalised, one crucial difference that singles out returning fighters from home
grown terrorists is the real combat experience they have. Many receive invaluable
training and fight real battles. They are surrounded by aggression and demonstrate a
particular brutality, with horrendous consequences in Australia. They kidnap and
behead civilians; murder children, systematically enslave torture and rape women and
girls. Our goal is not to deter and contain foreign fighters but to defeat and annihilate
them.
There are similar cases like that of Khaled Sharrouf. One of the most graphic
examples of brutality was the image of his

Creating Effective Learning Environments for Learners

Environment is all the physical and social conditions that surround and can influence
a person s health. A learner s physical environment on the other hand include the class

Earthman rates temperature, heating and air quality as the most individual elements
for student achievement in learning. A class that is well lit, warm when environment
is cool or cool when it is hot is more suitable to accommodate effective learning.
Furthermore if the classroom is up to date and current technology is available, the
student will keep pace with their peers who have access to this equipment.
Where classes are positioned in a school matters a lot. Class next to staffrooms
where teachers crack jokes can distract the students concentration and learning in
class. Classes should be situated in areas away from paths that distract pupils. An
example is a class next to the main road leading to the main gates will always have
cars; people and this will hinder effective learning because students will always be
staring at anything passing outside instead of listening to the teacher. Police cars that
enter in school will freak out students because they will always be

Iroquois Indian Creation Myths
Creation Myth and legend
Let There Be Light , A saying used to illustrate the illumination, or beginning of
something. Through creation stories and myths, we can analyze, or have a better
understanding of how past civilizations may have looked at life, science, and nature. I
will compare the similarities, and point out the differences between the Greek culture,
Christian/Jewish, and Iroquois Indian civilizations. How they characterized the
primordial, creation, and the gender gap through narrative. This gives us insight to
their societies values and beliefs at the time they were written. As discussed in class,

nothing, the term Tao says that space and form go ... Show more content on

The Greek civilization suggest the Gender gap as being of a more strategic
implication rather than a gender viewpoint. The male having dominance over
woman is a theme in Greek mythology, from sons allying with mothers to defeat the
fathers, to the rape of Persephone. As Homer and Hesiod describe Hera as being
second and subservient to her husband, using trickery to overcome Zeus plans.
Although the feminine does play an important role it is one of creation and
nurturing. Likewise, in the Genesis story, woman is created from man and is made
to give him aid. After they had eaten of the fruit from the tree of good and evil, God
was as a parent and correcting, or punishing the children. God said to Eve in Genesis
3:16 your desire will be for your husband and he shall rule over you.

Domestic Violence And Mass Shootings
People assume that the perpetrators of these crimes have a mental illness, but
having a mental illness is not a good predictor of who will commit this kind of
crime. One of the top predictors of impending violent behavior is previous violent
behavior. And a crucial warning sign of someone who might commit a mass shooting
is domestic violence. With that being said, not all mass shooters have committed
domestic violence, but many of them have. An example of a mass shooter who was
domestically violent is Omar Mateen. He was the perpetrator of the anti LGBTQ
mass shooting at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida. After the event, his ex
wife told the media that he had violently abused her during their brief marriage.
Even though most offenders have been domestically violent, they tend not to have
a criminal history (Crockett, E., 2017). Also, the perpetrators commit these crimes
because of a stressor. This stressor could be as simple as getting laid off and being
rejected by a crush. Some other examples of stressors are getting a divorce, losing a
loved one, or even being bullied (Brown, 2013, p. 452 452).
Mass murders cause the public fear because the public thinks they are unpredictable
and can happen to anyone, but that is not the case. Mass murders are very
predictable. More than half of mass shootings involve an existing or previous
intimate partner or a family member and 81% of the victims are women and children
(Crockett, E., 2017).
There is always a lot of sympathy

What Was The Causes Of The American Massacre
March 5th, 1770 will indeed go down in history. During this time there was high
tensions between the colonies and the British a tragedy is the last thing us colonist
need, but sadly less than a week ago 8 British soldiers shot into a crowd of
protesters. This action killed Samuel Gray, Samuel Maverick, James Codwell, and
Crispus Attucks. Patrick Carr was gravely injured, one of the troops shot him
threw his abdomen. Many believed that Carr is laying on his deathbed. You may
ask, why did this all happen? Well according to locals, a few ill tempered protesters
called the Patriots, had gone up to Private Hugh White and started to verbally assault
the man, Hugh who had grown angry, struck one of the protesters. Other protesters
began to flood in, throwing ice and snowballs. Hugh Montgomery alerted a troop
that was passing by but by the time the troop arrived the crowd had grown in size....

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Piezoelectric
Piezoelectric Materials
The term Piezoelectric is made up of two words Piezo and electric . Piezo is a
Greek word which means Pressure thus Piezoelectric means electricity produced by
Pressure. Pierre Curie and Jacques in 1880 experimented on many crystals such as
tourmaline, quartz, topaz, cane sugar and Rochelle salt which shows this
phenomenon. These crystals produced electricity (small amount) on small
deformation of their body. Later in 1881, it was observed that these crystals can
show reverse phenomena also i.e. these crystals deform when they are kept in an
environment having electric field.
Mechanism: To produce electricity a material should be net polarized. Positive and
negative charges should be separated and they should give ... Show more content on

Bulk Polymer 2.Composite polymer 3.Void Charged Polymer
Bulk Polymer: This kind of polymer shows piezoelectric effect because of their
molecular structure. Two kinds of polymer which shows this effect are amorphous
and semi crystalline polymers. PVDF (Polyvinylidene Fluoride) is one of the best
examples of semi crystalline polymer used in various materials. A semi crystalline
polymer can be viewed as in an amorphous region small locations of randomly
oriented microscopic crystals are present and poling is a process which is required to
reorient these crystals so that dipole is present.
Composite Polymer: They are more or less similar to inorganic piezoelectric
materials. Randomly or arranged rods present in a bulk film of polymer are known
to be composites. They are having both advantage i.e. mechanical flexibility of
polymers as well as high dielectric constant. These materials are generally used in
acoustic devices because its acoustic impedance is low.
Void Charged Polymer: As the name suggests it is a type of polymer where polymer
surface is surrounded by internal gas voids. When the surface gets charged, couples
electrical and mechanical energy gives a high piezoelectric coefficient which is far
greater than piezoelectric

Research Methodology For Research Design
3.1 Introduction
This chapter presents the research methodology employed in this thesis in respect of
the research objectives by ensuring the application of the appropriate methodology.
Among other things the research design, population, sampling procedures and sample
size, data collection technique and research instrument were discussed. Finally, the
data analysis and research limitations were looked at.
.
3.2 Research design
Research design constitutes the entire strategy for data collection including the
specific data analysis techniques or methods the researcher intends to use. Three
major approaches are mostly considered by researcher during research methodology.
These are quantitative, qualitative or mixed approaches. However, Ghauri et al.
(1995) maintained that quantitative and qualitative methods are two types of research
methods mostly used by researchers.
According to Bryman Bell (2007), the quantitative method entails systematic
empirical studies which involve quantifying through the assistance of mathematics
and statistics. Data is collected and transformed into numbers which are empirically
tested to see if a relationship can be found in order to be able to draw conclusions
from the results gained. On the other hand, qualitative research does not rely on
statistics or numbers rather qualitative research often refers to case studies where the
collection of information can be received from a few studying objects.
According to Biggam (2008) quantitative

Identity In A Room With A View Essay
What is a society ? They say it is community with shared laws , traditions , and
values. In a Room With a View by E. M. Forster it has a society but a one of
boundaries. It is the 20th century in England and Italy where the Englishwoman
Lucy Honeychurch spends time. And everyday she faces the English class system,
where even family like Charlotte,Mrs.Honeychurch and Cecil tell her how to be.As
Lucy is dictated by these rules she gradually finds herself with the help of love and
those who believed in her. With a theme of finding your own identity in the midst of
society and class can be seen in A Room With a Viewwithin those who interact with
Lucy , Lucy herself, and a unanticipated romance. In this novel the young
englishwoman Lucy Honeychurch travels to Florence, Italy with her chaperon
also cousin Charlotte Bartlett.During their stay they were acquainted with people
of all differing personas but there was one that captivated Lucy s attention. It was
after an exchange of rooms with Mr.Emerson and his son George it was when she
took a liking to the son.As George no longer can control the feelings he has, him
and Lucy share a kiss but soon after she returns to England trying to put it behind
her.As she is now to be wed to Cecil Vyse the Emersons move to her home and now
she must decide if she will convince herself that Cecil is the one to marry or if in
her lies her love for George is real and should be acted on. As the trip to Italy begins
Lucy is under the constant very protective care of her cousin Charlotte they talk
about the view from their room is when Mr.Emerson and his son George are
introduced to Lucy .They offer an exchange of rooms so the ladies can have the
ones with a view . You see, we don t like to take began Lucy. Her cousin repressed
her again (4 , E.M.Forster) This passage shows how Charlotte can make Lucy feel
during this trip. She constantly makes sure she does right and is ladylike. You can
see this in the quote Naturally, of course, I should have given it to you but I know
that it belongs to the young man , and I was sure your mother would not like it .(12
E. M. Forster)She wants Lucy to avoid improper behavior with young men and she
keeps Lucy from doing what she desires and what

What Is The Main Conflict In Cyrano De Bergerac
The movie, Roxanne, based off the classical play Cyrano de Bergerac is a
hysterical comedy about a man named C.D who falls in love with a girl named
Roxanne. Roxanne falls in love with C.D s personality, but another man s
appearance. To make this movie comedic, the director, Fred Schepisi, modernized
the movie and incorporated famous actors and actresses in it, such as Steve Martin
and Daryl Hannah. Overall, I like the movie because it took a classical play with a
well developed plot and made an amusing movie out of it. The main conflict in the
movie Roxanne is C.D loves Roxanne, but Roxanne loves Chris. C.D is intelligent,
but unattractive because of his abnormally large nose. On the other hand, Chris is
unintelligent and handsome. At... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
C.D also symbolized the character Cyrano because he is intelligent and brave. C.D s
intelligence is shown when he talks to Roxanne about astronomy and his bravery
is shown when climbs the houses. In addition to being intelligent and brave, C.D
is easily insulted when someone talks bad about his nose, just like in the play. In
the beginning of the movie, people make fun of C.D s abnormally large nose and
C.D beats them up. When a guy tells C.D he has a big nose C.D tells him twenty
other ways he could have insulted his nose. Another element the director
incorporated in the movie was the fact C.D and Chris are firefighters, which is
similar to them being soldiers in Cyrano. Besides being a firefighter, Chris
symbolizes Christine because he is the new to the town, he is handsome, and
unintelligent. Also, Chris and C.D team up to win Roxanne s heart and C.D writes
the letters to Roxanne for Chris. When C.D tries to tell Chris what to say through
the earpiece, the earpiece stops working and Chris ends up speaking without C.D s
help. Similar to the play, Chris ends up screwing his relationship with Roxanne
when he doesn t use C.D s words. C.D ends up fixing the relationship when he talks
to Roxanne during the night in the shadows and just like the play Roxanne
recognizes C.D s voice in the end. Also, when Chris and Roxanne are
