3. India map: Physiography There are six different physical divisions – Northern mountains, Northern plains, Great Indian desert, Southern plateau, Coastal plains and Island region Since I love beaches most so I will describe about Indian coastal plains.

4. The peninsula A peninsula is a land mass, triangular in shape and surrounded by water form three side. As India is surrounded by the Indian Ocean on the south, the Arabian Sea on the west and the Bay of Bengal on the east so we can say that India is a peninsula.

5. THE Indian COASTAL PLAINS The total coast line of the India is around 7516 kilometers. It starts from Kutch in western region up to the Sundarbans in Coastal East India.
