Indian Culture By Abhi, Devarsh, David, Eli

Family & Community The family is a central unit in Indian society. Traditionally, extended families live together with multiple generations. Respect for elders is highly valued. Communities are close-knit, and there's a strong sense of social interdependence.

Arts Classical Indian dance forms like Bharatanatyam and Odissi tell stories through mudras (hand gestures) and expressive movements. Music is another pillar of Indian culture, with distinct styles like Carnatic music in the south and Hindustani music in the north. Bollywood, the world's largest film industry, is another way India exports its culture globally

Food Indian cuisine is vast and flavorful, varying greatly by region. Spices are a staple, and curries come in endless varieties. Vegetarian options are abundant due to religious influences. Lentils, rice, and flatbreads like roti are common staples.

Religion India is famously known as the birthplace of Hinduism, the world's third-largest religion. Islam, Christianity, Sikhism, Buddhism, and Jainism are also practiced widely. This religious diversity means there are many festivals and celebrations throughout the year, each with unique customs and traditions.
