2. WHY ARE THESE PROBLEMS IMPORTANT TO SOLVE? INTRANET Station Leaves To gain entry into the campus after 12:00 AM When leaving the campus for more than a day. Approval is not granted after 5 P.M. from Mondays to Thursdays, 3 P.M. on Fridays and not during Saturdays and Sundays. Admin manually approve every request. Ambulance Students call a list of numbers to access ambulance service with no fixed respondents. There exists an emergency response team in the college but hardly anyone is aware of it. Timetable Cancellation, Addition, Updation happens via Live Google Sheets Cumbersome to check GS regularly Students miss classes due to no proper notification Cluttered schedule of all sections for the full term dates Jain Food Students enrolled constantly face shortages No prior information so that alternate arrangements can be made Mess staff are unclear of apt quantity of food

6. FOCUS GROUP INTERVIEW AND TRANSCRIPT Moderator : What are your views on current medical (emergency) system in the college? Are you aware of the POCs in case an emergency? Person 1 : I feel there is a huge scope for improvement. Talking about general services, I had to go out for rabies injection last month as it was not available in our dispensary. And there are no proper steps which one should follow in case of emergency, this leads to huge delay in the process which may prove fatal in certain circumstances. Person 2 : I also feel the same. You know what, It wasn't until last week that I learned our institution had an emergency response Moderator : What are your views on current station leave approval mechanism in case of pre planned leaves and immediate leaves? Person 3 : There is no problem with the pre-planned leaves if any but if we have got some emergency or we need to take leave on immediate basis then I feel there is no proper mechanism in place right now. Person 2 : Last month I had to go to home and this trip was planned in like few hours time and it was weekend, so when I reached main gate I was scolded by main gate guard as my leave was not approved because it was weekend. I don’t know what to do in that situation. team. There was no clear indication of duties anywhere. I feel every individual in the college must be aware of this. Moderator : On the scale of 1 to 5 (5 being the best), how much you will rate the google sheets timetable model? Person 1 : I will rate it 2 out of 5. There are a few problems with that, like it is very difficult to search your section out of 10 sections, and there is no update as and when a class gets added or cancelled. Few of my friends have even missed morning classes because of that. Also had discussions about jain food availability and the efficiency of housekeeping and maintenance staff in the hostel premises.
