Let’s Try! In his Science lesson, James learned the necessary conditions to make the bulb light up. His curiosity and interest boosted him to prepare a simple electric circuit that his family can use during brownout. Can you help him? Write the order of the procedure by using signal words in each sentences in doing the activity.

There are certain conditions to make the bulb light up: The circuit is closed. The wires are properly connected to the other parts of a circuit. The bulb is not burned. The battery or power source is new or has the capability to make the bulb light up. The wires are properly isolated/ not grounded.   R e m e m b e r !

A C T I V I T Y Time ! Teacher will provide a set of circuit to each group, each set has a problem. Every group will try to make the bulb light up by simply fixing the circuit. Each group will be provided with checklist as guide in performing the activity. Every group will record the problem as well as their solutions in fixing the circuit.

Open circuit and grounded wire. Team Blue

The source is drained and all the wire is connected only in the positive terminal, the circuit is open. Team Yellow

The light bulb is burned the wire is connected only in the negative terminal of the battery. Team Green

Situation 1: During fiesta in Palumbanes there is a fluctuation of power/current in the whole sitio because of large number of consumers who uses electricity, as a result some of your light bulb and wire burned. What will you do to fix up the circuit at your home?   Situation !

Situation 2. You have a generator set at your home. Due to many appliances that consumes a high voltage of current there is a shortage of electric current. Which among the circuit has the problem? What will you do to solve this problem? Situation !

Situation 3. Your mother was problematic about the electricity bill because it was too costly. How are you going to help your mother in saving electricity? What will be your practices ? Situation !

Let’s do this! A. DIRECTIONS: Write TRUE if the statement is true and FALSE if not. _____1. The bulb will light even if it is burned. _____2. The circuit is not complete so it will make the bulb light up. _____3. The battery not enough to supply the whole circuit so the bulb will light up. _____4. The circuit is closed so the bulb lights up. _____5. There is a cut in the wire, and it makes the bulb light up.
