introduction Infertility is the inability of a couple to become pregnant (regardless of cause) after one year of unprotected sexual intercourse and without birth control method. It may be that one partner cannot contribute to conception.

Types of infertility: Primary infertility Secondary infertility

Causes of infertility in both male and female Genetic factors Some disease Drugs Radiations

DIAGNOSIS of infertility: History taking Physical examination Lab test Ultrasound Semen analysis

TREATMENTS of infertility in both male and female: Hormone treatments and medication: Assisted reproductive technology (ART) Surgery

RISK FACTORS OF INFERTILITY: Age Smoking Over weight Being severely depressed or stressed

PREVENTION OF INFERTILITY: Don't smoke. Limit or abstain from alcohol. Keep the weight off. Reduce stress. Avoid exposure to pesticides, heavy metals and other toxins. Limit caffeine

CONCLUSION: IVF can be a successful method in treatment of infertility in women aged 40-45years.
