( Declaration of Alma- Ata , 1978) The process by which individual and group of people learn to behave in a manner conducive to promotion, maintenance and restoration of health. PMS 3

To motivate people to make their own health related decisions. To increase and improve the knowledge and attitude of public about detection, treatment and control of disease.
