CONCRETE MIXER PRESENTED BY NIKHIL CHAVDA ENROLLMENT NO:-21SOECV13003

INTRODUCTION   A  concrete mixer  (also  cement mixer ) is a device that homogeneously combines  cement ,  aggregate  (e.g. sand or gravel), and  water  to form  concret . A typical concrete mixer uses a revolving drum to mix the components. For smaller volume works, portable concrete mixers are often used so that the concrete can be made at the construction site, giving the workers ample time to use the concrete before it hardens. An alternative to a machine is mixing concrete by hand. This is usually done in a wheelbarrow; however, several companies have recently begun to sell modified  tarps  for this purpose .

DRUM MIXER A Concrete Batch Mixer is a type of mixer used in the construction industry to mix a specific quantity of concrete at a time. This type of mixer is suitable for small to medium-sized construction projects where the demand for concrete is not too high . The concrete batch mixer typically consists of a drum or container where all the ingredients are added in a predetermined order. The ingredients usually include  cement , sand, water, and aggregates such as crushed stone or gravel. This mixer comes in different sizes, and the size of the mixer is determined by the amount of concrete that needs to be mixed. Small batch mixers can hold up to 1 cubic yard of concrete, while larger mixers can hold up to 6 cubic yards of concrete or more.

DRUM MIXER

COMPONENTS Concrete is a mixture of sand, gravel, crushed rock and/or other aggregates that are held together by a hardened paste of cement and water. The properties of concrete vary depending on the ingredients used and their proportions in the mix .

FUNCTIONS The machine is designed to mix cement, water, and other materials to make the perfect blend of concrete for any construction need. One of the main advantages of using a concrete mixer is that it can save time and money.

ADVANTAGES OF DRUM MIXER The advantage of a concrete drum mixer is that it offers efficient mixing of concrete on-site. The rotating drum allows for thorough mixing of the concrete ingredients, ensuring a homogenous mixture. This type of mixer is portable and can be easily transported to different construction sites, making it convenient for small to medium construction projects. Additionally, concrete drum mixers are known for their durability and low maintenance requirements, making them a cost-effective choice for construction companies. The design of the drum mixer also helps in reducing waste and increasing productivity on the job site.

DISADVANTAGES OF DRUM MIXER Some disadvantages of concrete drum mixers include limitations in the volume of concrete they can produce compared to larger stationary mixers. Due to their smaller size, they might not be suitable for very large construction projects that require a high volume of concrete.

Another drawback is that concrete drum mixers may have a slightly longer mixing time compared to some other types of mixers. This can impact productivity, especially on projects with tight deadlines.
