Introduction- Injections administration is the act of administering a sterile solutions, emulsions especially drug, into a person's body using a needle and a syringe.

Sites for injection administration There are mainly four sites for injection administration. 1- Subcutaneous 2- Intramuscular 3- Intravenous 4- Intradermal

Technique for injection administration

1- SUBCUTANEOUS A subcutaneous injection is administered as a bolus into the subcutis, layer of skin directly below the dermis and epidermis.                                                  OR Subcutaneous injection means the injection is given in the fatty tissue, just under the skin. EXAMPLE- Insulin.

intradermal Intradermal injection often abbreviated ID, is a shallow or superficial injection of a substance into the dermis. EXAMPLE- Senstivity  & Allergy testing.

PROCEDURE FOR INTRA DERMAL INJECTION

A tray containing.... A kidney tray to collect the wet waste. A paper bag to collect the dry waste. A bowl to keep the cottons balls in. A pair of gloves to keep the procedure aseptic. A syringe with needle to load the  and administer the medication. A tourniquet to visualise the vein while administering the intravenous. A spirit to clean the area before administering the drug. A prescribed medication card.
