Innovative Teaching MethodsFlipped Classroom
Innovative teaching is the process of introducing a new teaching strategies and
methods into the classroom. The purpose of introducing Innovative teaching
is to improve academic outcomes and promote equitable learning.

Innovative Teaching MethodsFlipped Classroom
Flipped Classroom:
In a ipped classroom the classroom and home activities are ipped
(interchanged).
Classroom sessions are recorded and recorded videos and study materials
are shared with the students.
Students review the lecture materials and listen the videos at home.
In the classroom, they will discuss with teacher and present the concepts
they understood and perform severalexercisesandactivities.
Teachers are more exible, addressing personalized doubts of each
student.
It has been observed from survey that ipped activities result in a better
outcome by the students, as students are taking more interest in learning
the subject themselves.

Innovative Teaching MethodsPeer Teaching
Peer Teaching:
In a Peer Teaching method, where an expert student instructs another
student who is new to the concept or he may be slow learner. Usually this
concept is implemented by making senior students to teach and interact
with their junior students.
Most of the times students are hesitate to communicate and ask their
doubts with their teacher. There is a huge gap between teacher and a
student.
In this Cooperative learning by making a small groups, with each person
in the group responsible for teaching others, and each contributing a
unique piece to the group performance on a task.
Students feel more comfortable and open when interacting with a peer.
Direct interaction between students promotes active learning.
It also helps Senior students to develop mentor ship and leadership skills.

Innovative Teaching MethodsProject Based Learning
Project Based Learning:
Project Based Learning (PBL), is one of the most powerful learning
experiences to the students.
In this teaching method students learn by actively engaging in real-world
projects by applying their theoretical knowledge studied in regular classes.
PBL requires critical thinking, problem solving, collaboration, and various
forms of communication between the small group of students.
In this method students need to use higher-order thinking skills and learn
to work as a team.
This method will engages the students in real-world learning, giving them
a deeper understanding of concepts through relevant and authentic
experiences.

Innovative Teaching MethodsInquiry Based Learning
Inquiry Based Learning (IBL):
Inquiry based learning is a type of active learning that encourages students to ask questions,
conduct research, and explore new ideas.
In this teaching method it has been shown that it improves critical thinking skills, problem-solving
skills, and creativity.
In traditional learning method, students are not given a chance to ask too many questions,
instead to listen and repeat the expected answers.
The following are the few methods which are based on IBL
Conducting Experiments:Allow students to conduct experiments based on their curriculum.
This will encourage them to ask questions and think critically about the results.
Field Trips:Arrange Industry visit/eld trips for student. This will allow them to explore real
world problems and the applications of the their curriculum. This can be observed by students
what they are learning in the classroom is relevant and will ask questions in the interactive
sessions.
Classroom Debates:In this method students are encouraged to actively participate in the event.
When students debate a topic, they are forced to think critically about both sides of the argument.
Projects:When students are given the opportunity to work on a project that is related to the
topic they are studying will be more likely to learn and remember the information.

Innovative Teaching MethodsInteractive Lessons
Interactive Lessons:
In Interactive Lessons students are actively involved with their learning
process.
Student group activities:Divide class into dierent groups of students
and assign them to specic topic/question. Let the each group solve in
their own method. Once all the groups are solved topic/question, inform
the students to discuss their method.
Jigsaw problem solving:In Jigsaw problem solving method, divide class
into dierent groups of students and assign each student to solve a
dierent part of the problem, and then the group members will assemble
all the pieces and solve the problem.
Quiz:After completion of each topic, Web based Kahoot! or Quizziz,
can be used to engage students in group activities use laptop or any
smart devices like mobile phone or Tab.

Innovative Teaching MethodsBlended learning
Blended Learning (BL):
Blended learning approach is a combination of instructor based classroom teaching and online teaching.
Teachers incorporate technology to enhance the learning experience and broaden understanding of
certain topics by using this blended learning approach. Teachers can share a video link to students to
watch it at home, and then discuss it in the class.
The following are the few methods which are based on BL
Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) (Swayam):Teachers have allowed students to join a
MOOC on specic courses. After completing this external MOOC, teacher will keep track of
teaching-learning happening in the MOOC. Teacher is conducting a few activities, conrming
students regular access to MOOC and completion of assignments, discussing and allotting group
activities in the class. In this mode students are attending classes on the campus only a few hours
for the course.
Assessment and Evaluation:Classroom/Online Quizzes Information Communication Technology
(ICT) tools are used for conducting quizzes and games for formative assessment.
