Reimbursement of business trip expenses
Employees often incur expenses during business trips, including
accommodation, meals, and other miscellaneous expenses. For these,
businesses receive receipts, hotel invoices, and business trip
invitations and need to expense these to the employees.
Isha is working in finance and needs to automate expense
management. She has heard that Document Understanding can easily
process various document types and decided to try it out.

Isha receives various documents for reimbursement via email. Depending
on the type of document, she needs to extract various information from it:
•Hotel Invoices: extract check-in and check-out date, bill-to-name,
invoice total
•Receipts: extract date and total
•Business Trip Invitations (handwritten for some customers): extract
the trip start date & end date, employee nameand client name
She needs to verify that the data on the Business Trip request is the same
as the data on the Hotel invoices and that all dates from the receipts are
within the Business Trip period.
If the total of a hotel invoice is more than 1000$, she needs to verify the
validity of the document. If the data matches and is valid, she will create
the corresponding expense reports in concur.
