Meaning of Industrial Relations A system by which workplace activities are regulated. It provides for setting standards
UNITARY APPROACH 1. Objectives are the same and are concerned with the well-being of the Organisation . 2. Inherent in the Japanese Approach to management of people. 3. Believes in the existence of Unions, Governments and Tribunals. 4. They seek direct negotiations with employees.
PLURALISTIC APPROACH 1. Trade Unions are legitimate representations of employee interest. 2. Society’s interest are protected. 3. Followed in England to solve Industrial Disputes.
MARXIST APPROACH 1. They consider conflicts between Employer and Employee as a product of the Capitalist society. 2. Societal imbalance is the reason for Conflicts. 3. Also called Radical Approach.
