1. Interview with the Vampire (1976) by Anne Rice She was born on the  4th of October , 1941. She was best known for her ‘ The Vampire Chronicles ’. She died in 2021 at the age of 80. 2. Plot Summary In the late 20th century, a vampire named  Louis de Pointe du Lac narrates his life story to a young interviewer , named ‘boy’ in San Francisco. * He meets the vampire Lestat , who turns him into one of the undead after tragedy befalls his family. Louis struggles right away with his new, demonic nature and his lost humanity.

3. The girl is taken by him and Lestat , who turn her into a young vampire. They spend over seventy years together, almost contentedly, until Claudia starts to wonder about her background. Claudia feels angry that she will never be able to physically mature into an adult since she has been cursed to live forever in a child's body. She decides to confront Lestat , whom she holds responsible for her disposition. As they are ready to depart for Europe, she and Louis believe he has passed away. Once abroad, all they come across are mindless living corpses until they reach Paris. They meet other vampires that are similar to themselves in Paris.

4. Louis de Pointe du Lac He is the protagonist of the novel , who becomes a vampire by Lestant de Lioncort’s blood . He resists again the idea of inherent evil and questions the nature of the vampire and their urge to kill humans . He continues to live by the familial codes of humans, finding it tough to let go of his humane behaviors . However ; towards the end of the novel , Louis finally learns to detach and give up the last dregs out of his human nature after Armand helps kill Claudia.

5. Lestat de Lioncort He is the one who created Louis and Claudia. He is scared of being alone and he is driven by revenge. After Claudia "steals" Louis from him and tries to kill him, Lestat helps Armand and his vampire coven kill her, knowing it will break Louis's heart .

6. Claudia She is Louis and Lestat’s child - a vampire of 5 years old . Claudia quickly forgets her human existence and becomes tormented by her unfulfilled life. She is aware of the fact that Louis has to leave her thus , she demands him to make Madeleine a vampire.

7. Armond The oldest vampire He runs a theatre company called ‘ Theatre des Vampires ’ His essential nature of evil—his need to completely possess Louis without the distraction of Claudia's love—leads him to kill Claudia. Despite this betrayal, Louis becomes Armand's companion, although he is now detached and indifferent.
