Statistics A branch of mathematics that studies information that is given in the form of numbers. Examples: Temperature Populations Amount of money spent or earned Ages

Statistical question A question that can be answered by collecting data and where there will be variability in the data. This question has more than one numerical answer. Which of the following are statistical question? How old are you? What is the average height of your classmates? How many days are there in January? How many students in your school like papayas?

Data Collection Data can be collected in few ways: By using existing records such as from government departments and internet, By carrying out surveys.

Graphs Pictogram Bar charts Line graphs

Pictogram Is a representation of data using pictures or symbols to show frequencies.

Number of students who buys Cupcakes in each day How many students answered the survey? How many students bought cupcakes on Sunday? Which day was the lowest sale? Highest sale?

Bar Charts Also known as bar graphs. It represents data in the form of bard of equal width. The bars can be drawn either vertically or horizontally. Compares data.

How many are the population of the survey? What is the difference between the movie favorited the most and the movie favorited the least? If 1 people in the graph is equivalent to 5, how many people likes SciFi ?

Line Graph Shows data that have been collected over a time period. Shows the trend of the data gathered
