Mostly used by light private aircrafts and military aircrafts. Water aerodrome these are also known as seaplane base. This is an area of open water used regularly by seaplanes, floatplanes and amphibious aircraft for landing and taking off, commonly found in Columbia, Indonesia, Canada, around the great oceans and sea of the earth.
Heliport / Vertiports Heliport or helidrome is a small airport suitable for use by helicopters for landing and taking off . Police departments use heliports as a base for police helicopters Vertiports – hubs for VTOLs such as air taxis and drones. These are recent developing projects in aviation. The future of air travel

Domestic and International Airport Domestic airport is an airport that handles only domestic flights – these are flights within the same country, CPT-JNB, NDL-LUN, LUN-LVI Here the difference they don’t have border customs and immigration facilities but some airports are built with both terminal buildings for domestics passengers and international passenger e.g. Kenneth Kaunda Inter Airport International airport has additional facilities for border control , police department, customs and migration control as well as incorporating all the aforementioned airport facilities such as the ramp, terminal building, control tower, hangers, banks , facilities that accommodates heavier and large aircrafts, etc. This airport enables passengers to travel between countries. Gate way to the global world . Gate way to possibilities.
General purpose for airports Getaway to possibilities, boarder post Provision of essential operation services such as air traffic control system within the country’s airspace, Fire and rescue services, Hangers for aircraft maintenance works, Aviation security services. Etc. Business opportunity for ground handling services providers(GSP), processing of passengers and cargo in and out the country through airlines services. Huge business. Air Cargo handling services which is at a constant massive growth every year, cargo warehouse facilities, customs cargo clearing and forwarding, imports and exports Tourism industry – the growth of tourism industry depends on the airports facilities, tourists attraction demands better facilities better airport facilities. International memberships of Airport Airport Council International (ACI) – they develop policies, programs, and best practices, standards of airport operations – Airport Handling Manual (AHM) has everything on passenger, baggage, cargo/mail handling, Aircraft handling and load control, Aircraft movement control, Ground handling agreement International Civil Aviation Organization – ICAO –Member state- Local CAA – Implements international civil aviation standards, a regulator of the aviation sector. International Air Transport Association (IATA) Ground Handling Council – IATA GHC – Sets priorities for improving safety and reducing aircraft damage in ground operations Civil Air Navigation Services Organization – CANSO - is the global voice of the air traffic management industry for a safe, secure, efficient and seamless airspace. Developing an international network for air navigation services.
