What is English tense?

Tense refers to: the form of a verb that indicates the time and duration of an action or event, such as past, present, or future. the use of certain tenses in English can also convey the speaker's attitude or perspective towards the event.

“I like your belt. It is very nice.” “ Muy belt? My belt! It is a tie. It’s around my neck.

Tense refers to: the use of the present simple tense can indicate a general truth or habitual action It convey the speaker's attitude towards the event

“ Muy belt?” Based on the context, It conveyed a sense of annoyance or frustration since Alice failed to identify what Humpty D umpty was wearing. “My belt! It is a tie.” The sentences confirmed that Humpty Dumpty was frustrated because Alice had mistaken a belt for a tie.

"It's around my neck." It stated fact without any particular attitude or tone.

Indication Technically, tenses are talking about the form of a verb
