About The Institute The Institute is located at Kufri, i n the midst of the Himalayas, started as a Food Craft Institute in the year 1984. In 1996, Institute was upgraded to IHM offering a 3 years Diploma in Hotel Management, affiliated to the National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology (NCHMCT) at Noida. The Radhakrishnan Block of the institute was inaugurated in 2002. The Guest House of the Institute was inaugurated in 2004 The Mahasu Bhawan was inaugurated by former Chief Minister Late Sh. Virbhadra Singh in 2016
The Institute is running the following Courses:- 2-Year M.Sc. Degree In Hospitality & Hotel Administration Programme. 3-Year B.Sc. Degree In Hospitality & Hotel Administration Programme. One and half year Diploma in Food & Beverage Service. One and half year Diploma in Food Production. Total Intake of the students:- 2 -Year M.Sc. Degree Programme --- 30 students (for 1 st Year) 3 -Year B.Sc. Degree Programme --- 384 students (for 1 st Year) 1½ Year Diploma in F & B Service --- 66 students. 1½ Year Diploma in Food Production --- 66 students. Total students enrolled (2021-22):- 3-Year B.Sc. Degree Programme -------------557 students. (1 st year admission is pending) 1 ½ Year Diploma in Food & Beverage Service --- 20 students 1 ½ Year Diploma in Food Production ------------ 36 students.
Short Term Courses being Conducted by the Institute:- Hunar se Rozgar Tak , Sponsored by Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. Skill Testing and Certification Course, Sponsored by Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. Special Courses for Disabled Students, Sponsored by Social justice & Empowerment, Government of Himachal Pradesh. Skill based Training Programme, Sponsored by Department of Tourism, Government of Himachal Pradesh. The Institute has following Staff Strength :- Academic Staff - -- 17 Nos . Administrative Staff --- 13 Nos. Outsourced Staff --- 35 Nos .
INFRASTRUCTURE & FACILITIES IN THE INSTITUTE Nine Food Production Training Labs (Kitchen and Bakery) Two Training Restaurants. Three Housekeeping Labs. One Fully equipped Laundry. One Front Office Lab. One Computer Lab Twelve well equipped Class room One centrally heated Auditorium. One fully equipped Library. Two Hostels with a total intake of 200 Students . Student’s Cafeteria. Guest House. Recreational Area. Placement Cell. Fully equipped Gym The Institute has the following infrastructure available: A new OBC Block( Mahasu Bhawan ) for the students was inaugurated on 8 th April 2016 .
NEW ADDITION TO INFRASTRUCTURE & FACILITIES IN THE INSTITUTE Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP) , fully funded by Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. I.T. control Room for Online classes and Webinar. New Dinning hall with a capacity of more than 156 students. Covered path-ways from Student Hostel to Campus. Music Room for Students and Staff members. Isolation Room for Students and Staff members . Renovation of Cafeteria, Administrative Office, Staff Room (in process). Up gradation of Food Production Lab and Restaurant (in Process).
PLACEMENTS & RESULTS Placement in the Year 2019-20: - 225 students appeared in the Final Year. 144 students were placed in Leading Hotels of India. 81 students opted for pursuing Further Studies. Placement in the Year 2020-21: - 228 students appeared in the Final Year. 77 students were placed in Leading Hotels of India (during pandemic) Placement still going on
