Starter Activity: How many Surahs are there in the Qur’an ? Which Surah does not start with Bismillah? How many Sajdah verses (prostrations) are there in the Qur’an ? Do you know how to perform Sajdah Tilawat ( P rostration of Recitation )?

What is Al-Quran? Lesson:1

We are Learning.. What does the word al-quran means Understand what the Quran is about

Questions about the quran How many surah is in the quran? Which surah does not have bismillah? How many sujud sajadah is there in the quran? What is the first ayat quran that was revealed to Nabi Muhammad?

Questions about the quran How many surah is in the quran? (114) Which surah does not have bismillah? (At-Taubah) How many sujud sajadah is there in the quran? (14) What is the first ayat quran that was revealed to Nabi Muhammad? (Al-’Alaq:1-5)

The Quran – Meaning Why does this ‘book’ called Al-Quran? The Quran has several meanings, namely gathering and compiling, and 'qiraah' means gathering letters and words together in a well-organized speech. The Quran originally is like 'qiraah,' that is, the masdar (infinitive) form of the word 'qara’a,' qiraatan, quranan. Allah says in the quran: إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا جَمْعَهُ وَقُرْآنَهُ ﴿١٧﴾ فَإِذَا قَرَأْنَاهُ فَاتَّبِعْ قُرْآنَهُ ﴿١٨ ﴾ (17) It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it; Sesungguhnya Kamilah yang berkuasa mengumpulkan Al-Quran itu ( dalam dadamu), dan menetapkan bacaannya (pada lidahmu ) ( 18) But when We have promulgated it, follow its recital (as promulgated ); Oleh itu, apabila Kami telah menyempurnakan bacaannya (kepadamu, dengan perantaraan Jibril), maka bacalah menurut bacaannya itu

The Quran – Meaning Lesson learn from the meaning of ‘Quran’ Quran is meant to be read continuously Read the quran as it has been read to Rasulullah (recite with tartil) : وَرَتِّلِ الْقُرْآنَ تَرْتِيلًا ﴿٤﴾ Maksudnya: dan bacalah Al-Quran dengan "Tartil ". ( Al-Muzammil: 4 )

The Quran – What is it about? The Qur’an contains the revelations of Allah to mankind. It is the speech of Allah, sent down upon Prophet Muhammad (saw) through the Malaikat Jibril. The Qur’an was sent as a book of guidance to mankind. “ This is the Book about which there is no doubt, a guidance for those conscious of Allah .” (2:2) “ The month of Ramadan [is that] in which was revealed the Qur’an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion.” (2:185) The Qur’an is unlike any other book – it is a book that allows Allah to speak to us and to guide us on the straight path. It is Allah’s greatest blessing for mankind.

The Quran – What is it about? In the Qur’an, Allah promises Adam (as): “ There shall come to you guidance from Me, and whosoever follows My guidance no fear shall be on them, neither shall they sorrow.” (2:38) It is important for us to always remember that each word of the Qur’an that we are reading, reciting, hearing, or trying to understand, has been sent for us by Allah.

The Quran – What is it about? Lesson about guidance: Talk about guidance in the Qur’an. Discuss ways in which the Qur’an provides guidance to Muslims (what to do / what to stay away from / how to increase iman, etc.) Ask: why is this guidance important ? Discuss with your child what the Qur’an has taught them thus far. What lessons have they learned from it? You might also want to discuss what you, yourself have learned from the Qur’an and how it has helped you as a Muslim .

The Quran – What is it about? Lesson about guidance: To further the discussion about what the Qur’an has taught you thus far, you could have your child compile a list of lessons they or you have learned (you could also have them interview another adult and compile a list). Then, they could use this list to look through the Qur’an to see where in the Qur’an it speaks about these lessons. They could then make a lapbook with the different lessons or perhaps write an essay detailing all the lessons. Have your child create a “Qur’an as guidance” collage. Prior to creating the collage, discuss with your child what types of guidance the Qur’an provides

We are Learning To.. Recite the verses while observing the rules of recitation. Explain the meaning of the Qur’anic vocabulary. Explain the overall meaning of the verses. Enumerate the features of the Qur’an which make us believe and trust it to be true. Explain evidence of the oneness of Allah.

SURAH AS-SAJDAH Why the name of this Surah is Surah As- Sajdah ? This Surah was Revealed in Makkah Tells man to bow, prostrate, submit and surrender to the mighty power of Allah SWT. One of the mightiest powers of Allah is the Qur’an How??? This lesson is all about answering this question!

How to Know that Qur’an is the True Book ? Revealed by the Creator to the unlettered Prophet Muhammad ( sal …) 1455 years before. Muhammad ( sal …) did not ‘invent’ Quran!! It is from Allah, the Lord of the Worlds. Let’s discuss how…! IMPORTANT POINTS TO DISCUSS

Let’s discuss SOME EVIDENCE/PROOFS to find out how Qur’an is the True Book. 1 . Creation of the heavens and the earth 2. Creation of man 3. Allah is not only the Creator but ALSO the One Who arranges and manages everything for all of His creation!!! 4. Giving life to the death, the Resurrection & Raising Up

Qur’an was Revealed as a WARNING and as a GUIDANCE for mankind. Elaborate . Try and Answer!

From your understanding, can you find the evidence?

S ort out the verses according to their theme Evidence of oneness of Allah and His creations Belief in Resurrection and Raising Up Tawheed Belief in Divine management and preordainment in addition to creation and formation

Evidence of the oneness of Allah ( Tawheed ) Creation of Earth, Heavens and whatever in between them What is meant by ‘created in 6 days’? All creations represent clear evidence of a Creator. وَإِلَـٰهُكُمْ إِلَـٰهٌ وَاحِدٌ ۖ لَّا إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الرَّحْمَـٰنُ الرَّحِيمُ ﴿١٦٣﴾ (Your God is One God; there is no god but He, the All-merciful, the All-compassionate.) ثُمَّ اسْتَوَىٰ عَلَى الْعَرْشِ (then He established Himself above the throne) Let’s Discuss

Allah arranges each matters to all creatures in heavens and earth. He does not ignore anyone. Angels record the work of people and Allah will bring people to account Length of Day of Judgement . Allah is the All-Knowing ( unseen and witnessed ) Management by Allah and preordainment

Stages of the Creation of Man وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنْسَانَ مِنْ سُلَالَةٍ مِنْ طِينٍ  ﴿ ١٢ ﴾  ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَاهُ نُطْفَةً فِي قَرَارٍ مَكِينٍ  ﴿ ١٣ ﴾  ثُمَّ خَلَقْنَا النُّطْفَةَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقْنَا الْعَلَقَةَ مُضْغَةً فَخَلَقْنَا الْمُضْغَةَ عِظَامًا فَكَسَوْنَا الْعِظَامَ لَحْمًا ثُمَّ أَنْشَأْنَاهُ خَلْقًا آخَرَ ۚ فَتَبَارَكَ اللَّـهُ أَحْسَنُ الْخَالِقِينَ  ﴿ ١٤ ﴾ And certainly did We create man from an extract of clay.  ( 12 )  Then We placed him as a sperm-drop in a firm lodging.   ( 13 )  Then We made the sperm-drop into a clinging clot, and We made the clot into a lump [of flesh], and We made [from] the lump, bones, and We covered the bones with flesh; then We developed him into another creation. So blessed is Allah, the best of creators.

Disbelievers disbelief and mockery of resurrection after death. This D ay is inevitable . And he has struck for Us a similitude and forgotten his creation; he says, 'Who shall quicken the bones when they are decayed?'  Say : 'He shall quicken them, who originated them the first time; He knows all creation . The wisdom of R esurrection after death
