Inverting Amplifier
Description
Theory:
¨An inverting amplifier uses negative feedback to invert and amplify voltage.
¨The feedback resistor allows some of the output signal to be returned to the input.
¨Operation Amplifier as an Inverting OpAmp
¨Components to be used
¤3 Resistors
¤OpAmp
¤1 function generator
¤1 Oscilloscope
¨Drag and drop the components from the Basic and Non Linear Tab
¨Setup Circuit as follows.
¨Use R0 = 1 KOhms
¨R2 = 1 KOhms, R1 = 10 KOhms
¨Setup inputs on function generator.
¨Provide “sine” wave of 1 KHz and 1V amplitude as input.
¨Connect the ground of the circuits. Run Simulation.
Conclusion
OP-AMPINVERTINGAMPLIFIER
NEGATIVE FEEDBACKGAIN
Aim
The aim is to build an inverting amplifier and verify its
results
Related Experiments
Since the output is 180° out of phase, this amount is effectively subtracted from the input, thereby reducing the
input into the operational amplifier. This reduces the overall gain of the amplifier and is dubbed negative
feedback.
