INTRODUCTION Societies worldwide are seeing a rise in the elderly population, driven by advances in healthcare and longer lifespans. With more elderly individuals, it’s crucial to understand their unique needs, especially as they experience various changes in their bodies ( Afolabi et al ., 2022). As people age, their bodies handle nutrients differently, making it necessary to adjust their diets to maintain health (Ismael et al ., 2022). Proper nutrition in older adults is key to staying healthy and avoiding chronic illnesses ( Nnodim et al ., 2023).
