They are poor, because their goal is to please god. They have their own special rules and criteria's. Secular Clergy are mostly found in the diocese. They are found in the communities to help people. Secular Clergy are more religious than Regular Clergy. They are sometimes involved in government. They have to be celibate. They both are religious and pray to god. Have their own religious habit.
Pope Is the head and the supreme power of the hierarchy. The pope is one in the whole world, which he controls all the pyramid hierarchy. People gave him power, because they thought that he is the connection between the people and god. He was considered more important than the Monarch itself, and he was considered the wisest person in section of religion.
Cardinals Cardinals are the highest rank in the church hierarchy, but after the Pope which controls every rank. Cardinal comes from the word Hinge in Latin. They have a huge role in controlling the ranks and helping the Pope. They are the one that elect the new Pope.
Archbishop The Archbishop are high ranked religious men that are come after the Cardinals and the Pope. They were taken as a high rank in the hierarchy pyramid because they are wise in religion. They work in dioceses.
Bishop Bishops are high ranked religious men, which has powerful control, and has a main role in the community and the hierarchy. They had a main role in controlling the land. Also they had a lavish life like the Nobles.
Parish Priest Parish Priests are priests that settle in the church in the manor. They weren’t rich like the other religious men. They lived in small house beside the church. Their role was to help people and give them advise and help them keep connection with god.
Monks & Nuns Monks were religious people that can read and write Latin. They wore brown gowns with hoods, this was their own cloth. They shaved a part of their head hair to symbolize humility. Nuns were religious holy people that lived in convert.
Abbot & Abbess Abbot is the leader of the Monks Abbes is the leader of the Nuns
