About John Keats John Keats (31 October 1795 – 23 February 1821) was an English Romantic poet and a key figure in the second generation of the Romantic Movement. The poetry of Keats is characterized by sensual imagery. Unlike his contemporaries who worshipped nature as God, he was a true adorer of nature who wrote poetry for the sake of poetry. Published 54 poems in his lifetime. Died of tuberculosis at the young age of 25.
