JUVENILE DELINQUENCY A child who has not completed a specific age as mentioned in the law of any country and does not bear resemblance as an adult person and who can be made legally answerable for his criminal activities. Person who is under the age of 18. A criminal behaviour , especially that is carried out by a juvenile.

STATISTICS  2012-14: 300% rise in Delhi  2014: a small increase in India 2014: 18% increase in cases in Delhi  2016: 35.6% of the crimes in Delhi  In 2016, making Delhi the number one ranked among metropolitan cities with 35.6% of the crimes committed by minors across the country. 2013: Attacks on women rise 132% 2014-16: One juvenile held for rape every 4 hours in India

In India, at least one minor was arrested for raping a woman or girl every eight hours in 2019.

EFFECTS OF DELINQUENCY ON CAREER- Negative affect on academic activities during the probation or incarceration. ON FAMILY- A trauma for family to have a juvenile delinquent in their family . Families are required to attend counselling sessions for the delinquent. This is costly and disruptive. ON COMMUNITY- Juvenile delinquency is closely related to sexual activities, drug use, gang involvement, etc. All these hurt the community because they make the community unsafe.
