EXECUTIVE SUMMARY During the internship at Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, I completed a project on QR Code Generator. The internship provided us experience on real-world applications within the aerospace industry. They enhanced their technical skills and gained insights into the challenges and opportunities. The staff exhibited dedication, professionalism, and a willingness to learn, making them a valuable asset to the organization. This experience has also enriched our knowledge. Algorithm : User Interface Setup: Create an HTML form that allows users to enter text or a URL for the QR code. Include input fields for username and password. 2. Event Handling (JavaScript) : Add an event listener to the “Generate QR Code “ button to handle the QR codec generation process. 3.User Input Handling Retrieve the text or URL entered by the user from the input field. 4. Authentication Prompt: Display a prompt asking the user to enter by the user from the input field. 5. Authentication Validation: Check if the entered username and password match predefined valid credentials ( e.g.,hardcoded values). HAL INTERNSHIP/18CSI85
Contd … 6. QR Code Generation (External Service ) : If authentication is successful: Send the entered data (text or URL)to an external QR Code generation service( e.g,https ://api.qrserve.com/v1/create- qr -code/). Receive the QR code image URL or data fram the service. 7. Display QR Code : Display the generated QR Code image on the web pages. 8. Error Handling : If users don’t provide all necessary information (e.g., empty input fields) or if authentication fails : Display error messages to inform the user about the issue. QR Code (Quick Response Code) : QR codes are two-dimensional barcodes that can be scanned using a smartphone camera or QR code scanning app. They encode data that can be read by the scanning device. Range : NFC : NFC operates within a very short range (a few centimeters), requiring close proximity between devices. QR Code : QR codes can be scanned from a distance, typically a few inches to several feet, depending on the size of the code and the quality of the camera. Readability : NFC : Requires physical contact or very close proximity between the NFC-enabled device and the NFC tag. QR Code : Can be scanned from a distance without physical contact, making them more convenient for users. Compatibility : NFC : Requires NFC-enabled devices (such as smartphones, tablets, or NFC readers) to read and interact with NFC tags. QR Code : Can be scanned by any smartphone or mobile device with a camera and a QR code scanning app, making them more universally accessible. Cost : NFC : Implementation of NFC technology may require investment in NFC-enabled devices, tags, and readers, making it potentially more expensive. QR Code : QR codes can be generated and printed inexpensively, requiring minimal investment in hardware. Why QR Codes are Better to Use over NFC: Widespread Compatibility : QR codes can be scanned by any smartphone with a camera and a QR code scanning app, regardless of the operating system or manufacturer. NFC technology may not be supported by all devices. Cost-Effectiveness : Implementing QR code technology is generally less expensive than deploying NFC infrastructure, as it does not require specialized NFC readers or tags. Ease of Use : QR codes are easy to use and do not require physical contact between the scanning device and the code, whereas NFC technology requires close proximity or physical contact between the NFC-enabled device and the NFC tag. Versatility : QR codes can encode various types of data, including URLs, text, contact information, and more, making them suitable for a wide range of applications. NFC technology is primarily used for contactless payments and data transfer.
