Water River Tunga Bhadra is a perennial river flowing through the taluks of Gangavathi , Koppal and Kushtagi taluks of Koppal district 31% of the cultivable land is irrigated. Irrigation mainly by Tungabhadra Canal, Ground Water(Minor Irrigation) Dug well, Bore well Power While power generation is handled by various organisations like NTPC, KPCL, etc ; Koppal is being supplied by Raichur Thermal power station and Bellary Thermal power station. Power transmission is efficiently managed by Gulbarga Electricity supply company limited ( Gescom ). Tourism Mahadeva Temple : built in 1112 A.D, this temple is famous throughout India for its magnificent architectural style and luxuriant decorative detail . Pampa Sarovar Lake : Located 45 km from Hampi , Pampa Sarovar Lake is considered one of the 5 greatest sarovars in India . Koppal For t: Located 400 feet above the plains, the fort predates the 18th century AD, when it was rebuilt into one of India’s strongest forts with the assistance of French engineers. Bahadur Basadi : Ancient cave temple built by the Jains during the 11th century has magnificent idols of Tirthankar and Brahmyaksh . Kanakagiri : Meaning, “Hill of God,” this elevation is situated on the Gangavati-Lingasugar road 13 miles from Gangavathi . Anegundi : Situated on the northern bank of Tungabhadra River, it is a part of Hampi World Heritage Site. It is believed to be the monkey kingdom of Kishkindha in the epic of Ramayana and is known to have one of the oldest plateaus on the planet estimated to be 3000 million years old.
