Draft Pattern for Waist band and Pocket

Introduction: Pattern making has become necessary for a designer to create various types of garment. Drafting pattern is very interesting and important for student so that they can interpret the design. There are different kinds of pattern. Foundation pattern, that makes use of exact body measurement of client. the styled pattern and final pattern. Accurate body measurement is the main ingredients to achieve a well-shaped pattern and a well-fitted garment.  

Waistband , plackets and pockets are important features of long pants Waistband Waistband is not only a way of finishing a waist line, but it also allows the pants set correctly on the waist. It is used to limit the expansion of stomach, to prevent over eating , to encourage good posture or to immediately slim the appearance. The are two kinds of waistband; the simple straight waistband which is commonly use on skirts and trousers, and the shaped or complex waistband which fits over the hips contour.

Pocket Pockets are attached to the garment for decorative and functional purposes . There are different types of pocket. The most common for the front of ladies trousers is continental or slant pocket.

Placket A placket is a finish opening in a garment. For pants, the most common placket is a zipper closure. It can be close either with bottons or zipper. Plackets can either be used as decorative or functional opening.

What I Can D0 Using drafting tool and Manila paper or old calendar. Draft foundation pattern for waistband and continental pocket . Submit your output to your teacher for possible suggestions of correction .
