ABSTRACT Lake front property is very expensive because many people want access to the water for creation. Lakes and water bodies have always attracted and shaped many urban development resulting close and integrated water city relation. Our study area is kanelav. The strategies included creating large pedestrain zones along lake edge, developing on outer road by strengthening existing road network, creating approximately 2km of access streets as well as new access point of lake front enhancing recreational potential by improving public facilities, and encouraging overall development within the precinct. 3

INTRODUCTION In general, a lakefront is the zone of interaction between urban development and the lake and lakefront area is considered as a unique irreplaceable resources where the interface between land, water, air, sun and productive plants . Development of lake front is the need of today it not only provide fresh environment to breath but also a place of amusement and source of income for local organization. Lake have a greater role to play in urbanized areas like, To collect rainwater efficiently. To facilitate groundwater recharge. The water has a potential to make cities as a cultural and heritage hub. So by developing the river in a beautiful way that attracts the more people to visit the place and increase the revenue. 4

The main concern is to decrease the river pollution, protection from flood and increase the tourism. The lakes that surround these beautiful city are measured life line of the city and are centered for tourist attraction of kanelav lake. This is a proposed planned methodology for the development of lakes of kanelav lake keeping into view the aspect of recreation, eco-tourism and health. Waterfront is a place where urban development and water interact, and defined as a unique and irreplaceable resource where land, water, air, sun, productive plants interface with eachother. Any development takes place in front of water or water body like river, ocean, lake or canal is term as waterfront development. In the present scenario, the waterfront development is a global trend. Nowadays, thousand of schemes for water development and being carried out in all over the world. 5

AIM Transforming lake as a unique cultural platform with recreational and entertainment facilities serving the city, its people and tourists with new dimensions along with a scale of development. 6

Objective Identification of towns with available waterfronts. Prioritization of towns for waterfront development, based on certain key criteria. Selection of a pilot town for implementation of the project. Increase ground water table. Decrease some part of water which is waste. 7

The increasing speed of urbanization and industrialization has left many towns/cities with minimum avenues for recreation and open green spaces. A developed waterfront trial would provide residents access to new recreation opportunities and an expanded awareness of natural aspects of river life. The waterfront would attract a growing legion of morning walkers and after-work runners. Added to this, public access sites connected by linear greenways will tie development together, eliminating barriers , both real and imagined and animate the waterfront with light and life of the city. This form of urban redevelopment can pull the waterfront areas from marginal use and neglect into mainstream of public activity and private investment.Cities enjoy increased tourism, employment and growth. Need of study: 8

LITERATURE REVIEW: Bhaskar V Bhatt, Dipali B Paneria, Vishwa D Mehta”Waterfront Development:A Case Study Of Sabarmati Riverfront” is said that, The water has a potential to make cities as a cultural and heritage hub. Every tourist that came to the city will pass the river,so by developing the river in a beautiful way that attract the more people to visit the place and that increases the revenue. The main concern is to increase the protection from flood and increase tourism. LITERATURE REVIEW : Anchal choudhary,Ritu Agarwal “Planned Methodology for Development of Lakes Of Bhopal” is said that, The two lakes surround this city are major lifelines of the city and are center for tourist attraction of bhopal. The upper and lower lakes of bhopal are situated within urban areaThis is a proposed planned for development of lakes of bhopal keeping into view the aspect of recreation,eco-tourism and health . LITERATURE REVIEW: Lake development at Kankaria lake is said that, It was not restricted to only cleaning,de-silting and other lake related activities, but also included lake front development activities. In this project facilities like Toy train,Indoor stadium,Laser show etc are developed. The lake front includes Jogging track, Aquarium, zoo,Park called Nagina wadi,Amusement park called Balwatika. The lighting and special effects on walkway and food restaurant in garden make the lake worthwhile place to visit or spend an evening. (source: www.kankarialakefront.in) 11

Conclusion The misuse river can be brought back to the city by utilizing the resources of the river itself and convert the empty land of riverbed and problem at the centre of the city into people's attraction, tourist attraction, creation of infrastructural and recreational facilities and transform the city more livable in terms of environmental improvement and inclusive development. 31
