Land Resources & Energy Resources 📧 [email protected]

. Introduction Land Resources are those natural resources which are available n the surface of the Earth, including soil, minerals, forests, water bodies, and land used for agriculture, housing, and industries Energy sources are things we use to get power for doing work, like running machines, lights, and vehicles. They are mainly of two types: Non-Renewable Sources : Limited and exhaustible( e.g., coal, petroleum, natural gas) Renewable Sources: Can be replenished naturally( e.g., solar , wind, hydro)

Definition of Land Resources Importance: # Basis for food production . # Provides raw materials for industries. # Supports biodiversity and ecosystems. Land resources are the natural endowment of land including soil, minerals, forests, water bodies, and physical space used for human survival and development.

Types of Land Resources Grazing Land Agricultural Land Waste Land Forest Land Used for farming, growing crops , and livestock. Grasslands used for feeding animals. Covered with trees, provides timber, wildlife habitat, and regulates climate. Barren, rocky, desert, or degraded land not suitable for cultivation but can be reclaimed.

Challenges & Conservation Of Land Resources Challenges: # Soil erosion and loses of fertility. # Deforestation and desertification. # Over – mining and unplanned urbanization. # Pressure on agricultural land. Conservation Measures: # Afforestation & Reforestation. # Soil conservation methods (terracing, contour ploughing). # Proper land-use planning. # Reclamation of wastelands . Challenges:

80% Energy resources are the natural or man-made sources that provide power for generating electricity, producing heat, and meeting fuel requirements in daily life and industries. Energy Resources Types of Energy Resources : # Renewable Energy # Non-Renewable Energy

# Renewable Energy Solar Energy Wind Energy Hydropower Renewable energy comes from natural sources that are continuously replenished and never run out. They are clean, sustainable, and eco-friendly. EXAMPLES

Non-Renewable Energy Non-renewable energy comes from natural resources that exist in limited quantities and cannot be quickly replaced once exhausted. These resources take millions of years to form. # Coal # Petroleum (Oil) Examples # Natural Gas # Nuclear Energy

Land Resources form the foundation of human survival by supporting agriculture, industry, biodiversity, and settlements. Since land is finite, its judicious and sustainable management is essential to balance development with environmental protection. Energy Resources are the driving force of modern life and economic growth. While renewable sources offer clean and sustainable power, non-renewable sources are limited and harmful to the environment. A balanced shift towards renewable energy ensures a greener and secure future . . Conclusion
