How to Effectively Communicate in an Interpersonal Speech Context Know the objective of the communication. Let the other participants speak. Observe the other participants’ nonverbal behavior. Use words that are appropriate for the situation.
Identify whether the given situation shows effective interpersonal communication. Write E for effective and N if not. You will be divided into groups of six members. Each group will be assigned to a social issue. One group will present the affirmative and another group the negative arguments, and will show how the appropriate verbal and nonverbal behavior in interpersonal communication should be used in a debate. There will be 30 minutes allotted for online research to prepare for the activity. Each group is given a maximum of 10 minutes to present their arguments and counterarguments in class.
Assignment Conduct an interview and feature a person that has an inspirational story to tell. Submit the transcript of the interview after the presentation in class.
