LAW OF REFLECTION

Slide Content

LAW OF REFLECTION

LAW OF REFLECTION The angle of incidence is equal to the angle of reflection.

LAW OF REFLECTION The normal line, incident ray, and the reflected ray lie on the same plane.

MIRROR LEFT-RIGHT REVERSAL

MIRROR LEFT-RIGHT REVERSAL The left side of the object appears as the right side of the image and the right side appears as the left. This effect is known as the mirror left-right reversal.

MULTIPLE IMAGES

MULTIPLE IMAGES Multiple images are formed by the reflection that happens when arranging at least two mirrors.

MULTIPLE IMAGES The number of images, N, can be determined using the formula

SPECULAR/REGULAR This is a reflection of light on smooth surfaces such as mirrors or a calm body of water.

DIFFUSE/IRREGULAR This is a reflection of light on rough surfaces such as clothing, paper, wavy water, and the asphalt roadway.

EVALUATE What is the law of reflection? What are the types of reflection?

ASSIGNMENT Study about curved mirrors and mirror equation.
